NFL Draft

DeclineToState
Who's watching Rounds 1 and 2 of NFL Draft tonight and tomorrow (or does that sound so lame you'd rather be ROB'd by a methed out toothless 3)? I'll be watching Round 1, perusing Round 2 coverage, and none of Rounds 3-7.
And if so, what players do you want your team to pick/hope they get? For me with the 49ers, I want them to get either WR Jeudy or DT Kinlaw at #13, and then at #31 get center Ruiz (though not a huge area of need) or that cornerback Henderson falls that far (a huge area of need).

last commentI usually watch the first round but no point this year. Already know my Bengals are taking Burrow first unless they Bungle it and trade away the top pick. From what I hear Miami has made some borderline insane offers for the pick, but Mike Brown would have to be stupid to give up the #1 spot with how bad we need a QB... so he will probably give it away.
I usually watch round-1 but hardly ever have patience for rounds 2+ (although this year I may watch rounds 2 & 3 since I don't have nothing else going on) - I am intrigued to see where Tua goes
I am so looking forward to watching something sports related. I am sick and tired of talking about viruses and job losses.
I am wondering if everyone being stuck at home will give the draft a ratings boost.
^ one would think - not much else going on
The draft was supposed to be in Vegas this year - probably would have been a hell of party - maybe they can do it in Vegas next year (I'd assume so)
Papi I'd expect Tua to go to the Dolphins since they are as desperate for a qb as the Bengals
Who falls? its always interesting when one of the top guys falls. This lockdown probably helped some of these guys stay out of trouble.
Well - Dolphins got their guy despite picking 5th - his injury may have been a blessing in disguise at least for the Dolphins - perhaps the Dolphins would not have gotten him at 5 w/o the injury?
Now let's see where Justin Herbert goes?
No one questions Tua's playing ability. But will he be able to stay healthy ? He sure seemed to get injured a lot in college. And the defensive players in the NFL are all bigger, stronger, faster. Time will tell. But he can throw that ball.
I'm pulling for Tua - but even b/f the injury I was not super-high on him - I felt most of his success was the system/team he was in and the superb NFL talent he had around him - def hope I'm proven wrong but in the end you probably couldn't pass on him
Herbert going to San Diego at #6 - I like him but - seems he has a very high ceiling - question is whether he'll get to that ceiling - I think he's a good-fit @ San Diego
The second pick a osu player was ejected by the. SEC in playoff game... SEC. Sucks .
Bengals have lots of holes to be filled
There's a rumor Juice may get picked up in the supplemental draft.
Juice! Juice! Juice!
Papi yeah the KFC franchise starting up is making him their franchise player.
Juice might. Get. Injured in. The locker room
I'm rarely impressed with offensive-linemen - but that kid from Iowa the Bucs got looks f'ing impressive!
I like the pick by my Cowboys - wide-receiver CeeDee Lamb from Oklahoma - guy makes plays
^Ya that’s a high value pick by Dallas. Amari Cooper plus Lamb is gonna be tough to cover
I think they just announced Las Vegas is gonna get the draft again next year
Goodell actually announced that the 2020 draft would be in Las Vegas. The ESPN anchor later corrected things to say the 2022 draft will be in Vegas.
^ good catch - so it'll be 2 years from now - cool
1st round - 18 offensive players - 14 defensive players
^ no kickers
😃
Las Vegas draft in 2022. Cleveland next year.
My dumbass Falcons took a damn CB for Brady and brees to pick on
LSU had 5 draftees in the first round
Alabama 4
OSU 3
Tua was the firs QB for Nick Saban to be drafted in the 1st-round
Went to bed luckily as the Patriots took no one and traded out of the first round. Wife and I will watch tonight as they have a second and 4 thirds.
With the inability to do physicals or face-to-face interviews, I suspect there will be more busts this year. The smart move is to trade down and gather more picks in rounds 2-4. Well played, Vikings.
The draft is like Christmas day for fans from every team from but Pats fans, after the first pick was texting my buddy back in Boston said no way I am staying up waiting for their pick (had a 7am conference call) that i know they are going to trade away from wake up and saw it had came true.
Patriots passing on Jordan Love means Jack fromme in the third, cutting Brian Hoyer and Cam Newton on a make good contract.
i could see them going with Eason instead of from, they are like opposites though Fromm great at reading defenses but arm isn't great, Eason has a cannon but needs better coaching
I heard there were 15 SEC players picked - almost half the 1st-round
the top 3 picks played @ ohio state .... #2 and #3 all years at columbus and #1 transferred to lsu after getting his degree @ ohio state and played back=up to J T BArrett
i just read this.......Joe Burrow, Chase Young and Jeff Okudah were teammates at Ohio State in 2017, and the trio made NFL draft history together on Thursday night:
"... I am wondering if everyone being stuck at home will give the draft a ratings boost ..."
Supposedly it was the most watched draft in NFL history - not surprising I guess given the lockdown
^ People are so starved for any sports right now. A HORSE game between Magic Johnson and Larry Bird would get good ratings now.
Hell yeah, get that bitch on tv.
And in the 2nd round, Patriots take a safety out of Division 2 Lenoir-Ryne Univ. Never heard of that place
^ watch him become a pro-bowler in the Patriots system
Dak Prescott's 31 y/o brother recently passed away - wow
It's cute how a lot of the coaches and GMs are on camera w/ their kids
12 out of first 59 picks are WR (20%). I heard this WR class was deep, but wow
Patriots going w/ defense on their first 2-picks
Pats will grab a QB at some point
No tightends or safeties in the 1st-round
And only 1 RB in Round 1
^ I couldn't remember who the RB was - had to look it up (it was the short-guy from LSU) - I probably couldn't remember him in the 1st-round b/c he was the lack pick
^ i.e. a RB barely made it onto the 1st-round
"... Pats will grab a QB at some point ..."
They're probably waiting till the 6th-round to get the next Brady
😃
Third consecutive pick on defense for the Patriots - I think Belichick forgot he doesn't have Brady anymore
9 Bama and 9 LSU players drafted so far.
I think LSU is up to 13 players counting all 3 rounds
Dang - my once mighty Miami Hurricanes whom used to be an NFL factory, not one single player selected in the first 3-rounds - not surprised though - speaks volumes to how much the program has fallen off over the years - probably will hurt recruiting if they can't turn this around
Vikings have 13 picks on day 3. That means 17 total picks in all rounds. Gotta be some kind of record. There are still lots of role players, medical risks, and raw projects on the board. With 13 picks, you can gamble.
