Tootsies is reopening 9/23, according to the Tootsies Twitter account. Noon-11, to go along with the curfew like goosman said about the Booby Traps.

Just saw an Andy Slater (the guy whose info I mentioned before and hasn't been wrong yet) saying that he hears from multiple sources that Miami-Dade clubs will be able to reopen in about two weeks. No word on Broward.
The bad news is that LDs and CRs won't be allowed. "What's the point" is a legit question, but I'll take any progress we get.

Fuck Joe Biden
Most of the songs I can think of that fit the first category also fit the second. Apologies to Stevie Wonder, because I'm mentioning him twice to start.
Ribbon In The Sky (cover, Intro: original: Stevie)
Lately (cover, Jodeci: original, Stevie)
Also, the most famous cover of all time...
I Will Always Love You (cover, Whitney Houston, original: Dolly Parton)
Most of the covers, I didn't know were covers because I was young when I heard them and the internet wasn't a thing yet. I just found one out by looking up the cover.
Tainted Love (cover, Soft Cell: original, Gloria Jones)
Where else can we go...
It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday (cover: Boyz II Men, original: GC Cameron)
Am I Dreaming (cover, Ol Skool: original, Atlantic Starr)
Baby I'm For Real (cover, After 7: original, The Originals)
Don't Disturb This Groove (cover: Backstreet Boys, original: The System)
Who Can I Run To (cover: Xscape, original: The Jones Girls)

Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez just said that nightclubs and bars might not be able to open until there's a vaccine.
He also said, though, that SCs will likely be able to open earlier. No dates were given.

I just saw someone on Twitter say that he heard the club is permanently closed. A Google search produced nothing, but a further Twitter search showed several other people saying it's closed. Saw that and logged on here for more info. Sounds like hoping for a good result in a couple of weeks is the only option, but it may be time to brace for the worst.

@Player11 - what console are you on? I've been playing GTAO pretty much nonstop since everything hit. I'm on PS4.
Guess I should actually answer the question in the post..."surviving" is probably the best way to put it. Not being able to do anything social has been getting to me the last few weeks, and I'm pretty much breaking even between work and bills so I can't save anything. Things could be worse, though.

They're apparently banned now. County Mayor Carlos Gimenez said he didn't know they were allowed and put the brakes on that when he found out.
Dale Holness (Broward) will probably do the same thing, although it doesn't seem like too many Broward clubs are open anyway.

There has been a reprieve: Slater said an hour ago that TPTB do not consider lap dances to be performances and are thus safe for now.

@Evasparkling: I have no clue, but I do know I'm not going to be the guinea pig to find out.
I guess stage shows are still allowed, but I could just as easily see a lot of clubs - particularly smaller ones - deciding it's not worth it to be open.

Sorry: they have to perform 10 feet away from customers (there's a lot of "same difference" here, but still).

Bit of bad news: Andy Slater (whose tweet started this thread) says lap dances will be banned - I assume temporarily, but 'banned' is the word he used - in Dade clubs effective at 12:01 AM. Dancers will have to be 10 feet away from customers at all times. No word on whether Broward or Palm Beach will enact similar measures, but it's entirely possible.

In my experience, the bias has been real.
Black women have been the most likely to approach me in mixed clubs, especially if the clubs weren't really all that mixed. White and Latina women approach me far less. There have been times - particularly at Tootsies - when I would stand in fairly close proximity to several other guys and a dancer would approach everyone except me. I used to get annoyed by it, but then I realized they were doing me a favor. I would say I've been approached more by black dancers at Inner Room than dancers of any other color - and I only went during the day. Same with clubs in the northeast: Playhouse, Savannah's, the place I went to in Pittsburgh. A dancer I spoke to at the Pittsburgh club literally told another girl who I'd expressed interest in to talk to me, and she shook her head no. There was one other guy at the bar - who already turned her down - and a bunch of guys hanging out a table who didn't buy any dances all night. I was her only option for money and she refused. Have to admit, that one got to me a bit.
I want to say the only club where dancers of all colors have treated me the same is Follies, which is weird because I dress down (T shirt, basketball shorts) when I go there rather than wearing my usual (dress shirt/slacks) outfit.

Just saw on the local news (Channel 10) that Club Climaxxx got shut down yesterday due to violation of social distancing mandates. It was the only SC on the list.

I know Goldfinger is open: drove by it Friday on my way somewhere. Looked pretty packed too, right around 5 PM. Haven't seen/heard about any other place being open.

I don't drink, so (shrug)...I'll get a bottle of water if it's required, but that's about it. I'd say 3/4 of the time I go to the club I don't even see the bartenders. I'll notice waitresses first.

^ Thanks: I was thinking to ask Papi if he heard anything about BC earlier today. Might consider a trip tomorrow if a couple things break my way.
To actually reply to what Papi said, during that drive-by Cheetah and Solid Gold had cars in their lots (they weren't open, but they might be working on it). BT had nothing, like DD. Also happened to drive by Goldfinger and Vegas this AM. Too early to tell if either was opening, but I think Goldfinger changed their marquis so they may be close. Vegas didn't look like they were close to anything.

I'm thinking Halle Berry and Scarlett Johannson. Even though I consider them to be the two best looking actresses, I don't think their looks really caused me to watch their movies (in most cases).
HB - Strictly Business, The Last Boy Scout, Boomerang, CB4, Losing Isaiah, Why Do Fools Fall in Love, X-Men, Die Another Day, X2: X-Men United, X3: The Last Stand, X-Men: Days of Future Past, John Wick Chapter 3
SJ - Iron Man 2, Avengers, Lucy, Captain America: Winter Soldier, Her (voiceover), Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, Sing (voiceover), Ghost in the Shell, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame
So that's 12 for HB and 11 for SJ, including voiceovers. Lucy and Ghost in the Shell are the only ones I saw 'just' to see SJ. I'd have seen all of HB's anyway...shoot, I forgot she was in CB4.
Men, it's probably Tyler Perry for me (sigh)...but that's neither here nor there. Hugh Jackman and Robert Downey Jr. probably rank pretty highly too.
I don't know about all actresses and career longevity, but HB will get to 30 years if she's in a movie in 2021.

Not that I remember...but I was so stuck on the mere fact that a monkey was on the pole and doing tricks that I didn't take the time to notice its attributes.

Tip Drill and Skrawberry at this bikini bar in Tallahassee: I've never seen so much money on a floor in my life. You couldn't tell what color the actual surface was. It literally took them 6-7 minutes to get the cash up after their set.
Never knew there was that much money in Tallahassee....
....oh, wait a minute: how did I forget this, especially when I wrote about it in my review of the club. I went to XTC Dallas four years ago and they had a monkey dancing on stage. Yes, a real-life actual monkey. The monkey even did a couple tricks and people were tipping. My friend and I sat there in disbelief watching this spectacle unfold before our eyes.

Hopefully this doesn't affect clubbing, but there's a decent chance it will: Miami mayor Francis Suarez said the city will not enter Phase 3 of re-opening due to the recent spike in cases.
https://wsvn.com/news/local/miami-mayor-city-will-not-go-into-phase-3-says-there-are-major-concerns-with-covid-19/
Some clubs have opened, but I can see them being forced to close again - especially since city and county officials across South Florida have largely been acting in collaboration on re-opening. If you want to get a dance, you may want to do so quickly.

Nah, I was going through a longer break than this at this time last year. It probably will be my longest break when it ends, though.
