I always thought Whitney Houston was the greatest of all time. Fun fact about Anita Baker, I actually met her once and saw her twice at two different basketball games. I met her at a high school basketball game, me and my friends just went up and talked to her. I had seen her previously at a Pistons game a couple years ago. (She had good seats, but our seats were so good she was actually sitting behind us).

It's "holubsti" and very good. Even my mom (who is mostly black) had recipes passed down to her from my dad's mom and my aunts and uncles which is pretty cool.

My grandparents on my dad's side have both passed, but one thing about their Eastern European / Ukrainian heritage they held onto was the food, and they passed it down to their kids. My aunts and uncles still make some Ukrainian dishes for family functions. Ukrainian stuffed cabbage will always be one of my faves dishes.

No it's not the answer. They just have very similar cultures. Remember, the Ukraine used to be a part of the Soviet Union (Russia) for a while. Lots of cultural and physical similariries. I am Ukrainian and have a very rare western Ukrainian last name. I guess the pale skin is why so many people also don't know I'm part black.

It really is dancer preference. I have learned to be less judgmental of customers that are outside of my typical demographic of choice (middle aged white men). I have a 31 year old who gives me about $500 each visit. Had a mid 30s Indian man who I always made $300-400 off of who sadly just moved to CA. These are both very recent and defy my usual "preference." I have also had good luck with West Africans in the past, most of whom are engineers and all are well educated. So now if I see a single man of any race or age sitting alone, I'm a lot more likely to approach them. (However, how young are we talking? I still don't prefer to dance for anyone who isn't at least a millenial, but I will). I remember once, I was starting my shift and there were barely any guys in there. There was a guy, middle aged, but did not look my type. He had on an oversized t shirt and baggy jeans, both were stained and splattered with paint. Be looked low class tbh. But I was bored and I immediately asked for dances and we hungout all night - he gave me almost a grand and went on to spend great money on me the entire time he was in Detroit working on a project. He even showed up to the club in pajama pants once but they let him in anyway because they knew. So, I've learned over the years that almost anyone is approachable as long as you can't smell their BO. I hate that.

I have a regular (luckily he doesn't spend much) who is constantly talking down on the black dancers and downright complaining about them. He has quite the disdain. Apparently he has no idea I'm part black. I wonder when I should tell him. Lol No matter how pc people on here may be, there is a general preference for the "standard of beauty" in western culture that caters to white women. It's just facts. It's changing gradually, but it's still the way it is. If I were dark skinned and actually looked black, I'd make less money.

Anyway, I'm very drawn to midcentury modern homes. I love the coziness and the nostalgia it brings for a time period I've never been. I haven't invested in any midcentury modern homes, but would absolutely love to have one custom built fo my family by my design. I could team up with a real architect. I plan to do this within the next couple of years once I have a kid (start the building process). I haven't completely moved in with the boyfriend, as my lease in another state isn't up for a little while, but I basically live here and while our house is absolutely gorgeous, with lots of land, it's quite contemporary (built about a decade ago) and I want something more suited to my style when we have a family. A cozy midcentury modern, or a beautiful Spanish home.

The ladies at the pink site don't have time for that. Now there might be a straggler or two who does, but a bunch of them did not get together and create this persona because as a whole, they're more interested in just working and paying their bills. Plus I used to be active on that site and would've known.

I wish I had majored in architecure. I want to build either a super cool mid century modern or a Spanish style home when I pop out a kid and have a little family. I guess I could go for my masters eventually.

Thanks guys. When I was a little kid I would draw up blueprints for houses and schools. Idk why I decided to go the grad school route and go into law but I'm glad I changed my mind.
