A Typical Day in the Life of a Dancer, Part 1
vixen7
9:50 pm: Arrive at club, ten minutes before check in. Locker room is full of girls complaining about dead beat boyfriends and shitty pay. Drama at its best, people. For every dancer there is a boyfriend who thinks we sit on our asses and have money handed to us, so every dancer is complaining about how much money they gave their boyfriend last night. Jet out of the locker room as soon as possible making sure everything is locked up or for sure something will come up missing.
10:00 pm: Check in with DJ to find out where I dance in the line up, how many girls on staff and so on and so forth. Then scope club for action. I like to walk around and say hello to all my co-workers, customers and manager. What I am doing is scoping the club for repeat customers that know me, or potential new customers.
* The art of watching the door.
If there are no prospects available at that moment, typically we keep our eye on the door to see who is coming in. You never want to "rush" a new customer or smother them as they come in. Nothing turns them off more. Just a friendly "hello", and I like to say " don't worry, I know you just got here, you are not ready for a dance cause you need to get liquored up (they laugh), I just want someone to talk to." This immediately eases them of “OMG I am being smothered to death.â€
* Planting the seed.
Once I have eased the customer's mind, I engage him in small talk. I try to find a common ground where we can build some rapport. Then I drop the bomb. I lean in and say "I know you are not ready to play just yet, but allow me to give you my 'menu' so later when you are ready to get your freak on, you can make an educated decision on what you will get should you spend time with me". Then I proceed to tell them about my high friction lap dances and naughty champagne rooms. Usually if I am going to get a sale, I pretty much closed it right here.

BTW - you'd have me at the first pitch
If you will please excuse the expression:
***These girls should get some BALLS & get rid of the Dead Beat Boyfriends!***
Their bank accounts would be a lot bigger without these so called BFs leeching their money. And maybe their lives a tiny bit nicer.
Otherwise a nice read. :)
1 reason may well have to do with self esteem issues.
Good article Vixen ! I have several OTC's going in my 5 state territory and I hear the same thing from them !
Old school stuff, a serious monger knows all this stuff already. More dancers should be reading this as the current economy has seem to bring out some new wannabes who have no clue how to behave toward customers.
Its all bling/jive and bs. They think all they have to do is shake their tata's or booty.
I wish more dancers would be up front about their menus and the prices. And please specify if that is double for a couple. We have had it go both ways.
The deadbeat boyfriends are often good looking guys.
The person with the most power. And, in this world money= power.
