A Typical Day in the Life of a Dancer, Part 1

Tuesday, June 5, 2012 12:00 AM
7:30 pm: The Beautification Process begins. This includes shower, shaving all legs and private parts, ex-foliating, covering up blemishes, makeup, hair, false eyelashes (this takes some talent to master the application of) and the outfit which includes accessories such as rhinestone necklaces, rings, bracelets, and of course nails and toenails. Finish time 9:30 pm. 9:50 pm: Arrive at club, ten minutes before check in. Locker room is full of girls complaining about dead beat boyfriends and shitty pay. Drama at its best, people. For every dancer there is a boyfriend who thinks we sit on our asses and have money handed to us, so every dancer is complaining about how much money they gave their boyfriend last night. Jet out of the locker room as soon as possible making sure everything is locked up or for sure something will come up missing. 10:00 pm: Check in with DJ to find out where I dance in the line up, how many girls on staff and so on and so forth. Then scope club for action. I like to walk around and say hello to all my co-workers, customers and manager. What I am doing is scoping the club for repeat customers that know me, or potential new customers. * The art of watching the door. If there are no prospects available at that moment, typically we keep our eye on the door to see who is coming in. You never want to "rush" a new customer or smother them as they come in. Nothing turns them off more. Just a friendly "hello", and I like to say " don't worry, I know you just got here, you are not ready for a dance cause you need to get liquored up (they laugh), I just want someone to talk to." This immediately eases them of “OMG I am being smothered to death.” * Planting the seed. Once I have eased the customer's mind, I engage him in small talk. I try to find a common ground where we can build some rapport. Then I drop the bomb. I lean in and say "I know you are not ready to play just yet, but allow me to give you my 'menu' so later when you are ready to get your freak on, you can make an educated decision on what you will get should you spend time with me". Then I proceed to tell them about my high friction lap dances and naughty champagne rooms. Usually if I am going to get a sale, I pretty much closed it right here. TO BE CONTINUED...

Good move regarding the first in the door because of every dancer who has hit me up for a dance as soon as I walked in the door over my 35 years of strip clubbing 100% have gotten a no. The first one by the door is usually there because if they don't get the guy first they know they never will because of their competition.

"Locker room is full of girls complaining about dead beat boyfriends" If you will please excuse the expression: ***These girls should get some BALLS & get rid of the Dead Beat Boyfriends!*** Their bank accounts would be a lot bigger without these so called BFs leeching their money. And maybe their lives a tiny bit nicer. Otherwise a nice read. :)

The dead beat boyfriend thing has never made sense to me. Can you please explain it? Most of these women have exceptional talents for attracting men. They do not have to settle for dead beats. So why do they?

I might take two dances then ask them if they play. I usually offer $150 to $200 for full service. A couple days before rent time is best days to come to club.

"They do not have to settle for dead beats. So why do they?" 1 reason may well have to do with self esteem issues.

Dead beat guys aren't very nice, and a lot of women, not just strippers, are attracted to sleaze balls who treat them like dirt. I don't understand it either.

Good article about a dancer's day. It is interesting that the "beautification process" takes 2 hours. I don't think we guys realize how much time dancers spend making themselves attractive to us.

It is nice to get a dancer's view. Do you have a deadbeat boyfriend? Or are you independent. I have often wondered why girls put up with abusive boyfriends or for that matter why men put up with abusive women.

Stenton: Looks like v7 has you hooked with another fluff article that milks her free membership to max extent possible. My predictions for sequels to follow: Part 2- The Basic Lapdance, Part 3- The Upsell To Vip, Part 4- How ToJuggle Regulars Into A Dancers Weekly Schedule, Part 5 - Shopping Trips, OTC Lunches With Regulars, Part 6- Some Reasons Why Dancer May Take A Break From Dancing, Or Move To Another Club, Part 7 - Dancer More Likely To Date Club Employee Than Customer: Some Real Life Examples. Hey, a nice ticket to 28 weeks free membership without really giving some good info about a particular club to go to, or to avoid.

Old school stuff, a serious monger knows all this stuff already. More dancers should be reading this as the current economy has seem to bring out some new wannabes who have no clue how to behave toward customers. Its all bling/jive and bs. They think all they have to do is shake their tata's or booty.

And for anyone who wondered why dancers are more attractive that their wife when they get home, it is because we don't spend 2 hours in the "beautification process." We are too busy taking care of your dry cleaning, your children, your meals and your house. Thank you, God, for my husband who always tells me with complete sincerity that no dancer holds a candle to me even when I don't spend two hours getting ready. :-) I wish more dancers would be up front about their menus and the prices. And please specify if that is double for a couple. We have had it go both ways.

My wife does the same thing, Beautification Process, three hours. The only thing is I understand how hard her job is, the dancing, putting up with rude costumers. If you think about it it's a BS job, spending time with a guy you think is disgusting. I think how would I feel if I was a dancer and had to dance and pretend I liked some behemoth of a woman. They do get paid good, but they deserve it.

vixen7: where the fuck is part2? You are a great writer. Practice makes perfect -- don't spend all your time dancing and doing makeup. An impatient fan.

My ATF has a boyfriend who's in and out of jail. When he's in she finds another deadbeat to live with who leaches off her and frequently steals from her. She and I have talked extensively about why she's attracted to "bad boys". She finally admitted that they're usually very good in bed, they're risk takers, and time with them is full of highs and lows. She called me an hour ago to say her bf (who's currently out of jail) just found the receipt from the hotel where we fucked around and she's afraid to go home cuz he's gonna beat her up. Par for the course.

@gawker, my atf's deadbeat once found out we were getting it on, behind his back. So he threatened me, and I threatened him back. I still have lots of fun with my ATF. So guess who won? The person with the most power. And, in this world money= power.
