The Nordic model of prostitution laws?
@jestrite: Sounds logical, maybe even idyllic, but I bet it would not hold up in court (of course, I hope you never have the opportunity to test that defense).

@heaving. I understand that the intent is to regulate the selling of sex, not to prohibit consensual sex. I'm not sure about you but I've always found that to be a slippery slope argument that can conflate prostitution with many consensual sex encounters, including marriage. Of course, no one is going to be charged with prostitution for having sex with their significant other (SO) while also providing their SO with money, goods, services, promises of undying love, etc. Presumably the exchange of money/goods/services for sex was not explicit, thus it is distinct from prostitution. But not so fast, what happens if your SO stops having sex with you? If you then break off the relationship or otherwise curtail the flow of money, goods, services, etc. then it begins to look more like an explicit exchange of money (or valuable goods and services) for sex. The point is that most relationships involve the exchange of something of value (often more than just money or material goods) and sex is often part of that exchange.

@heaving. You're right-- claiming that you're shooting a porn film should solve the problem and provide one more example of the silliness of these attempts to regulate sex between consenting adults.

The Nordic model of prostitution laws?
Interesting discussion but it convinces me that this is a truly fu**ed up law. 1. If a woman wants to sell sexual services, she can do it legally but she'll have no customers because buying sex is illegal and the men might be afraid of getting busted. Let's say we applied the Nordic model to any service job, such as dental hygienist. It would be legal to work as a dental hygienist but it would be illegal to purchase those services. Geez! 2. Here's one solution. It is not illegal to sell sexual services under this model. So the woman (assuming that most prostitutes are women) offers her services for $300. In turn the man offers his sexual services to the woman for $100. The cost differential is $200 to the woman and neither has committed a crime under this model because both have been sellers of sexual services. Makes your head spin and your dick go soft.

Double takes in a strip club
First ever visit to Hong Kong Club, Tijuana. I walked to the back of the club and discovered two lovely Latinas sliding around a a shaving cream covered stage. The both had dildos and were giving the guys at the rail a chance to "drive" the dildo for a dollar.

Heaving-- your observations were helpful, although the Wikipedia resource (thanks Ishmael) was also helpful. So, what would you do if traveling in Canada and you wanted to visit a massage parlor or strip club? Some people seem to think that prostitution is legal in Canada (I wish that were so!), but it seems a bit more complicated.

Dave: No legal issues???? Can you (or anyone) explain the Canadian laws on prostitution (also called the Nordic model)-- it is illegal to purchase sexual services but it is legal to sell sexual services?

This makes me think of a phrase I read in a book (maybe something by Milan Kundera?) that goes something like this: I wish you could love me like you love your dog, accepting me for who I am, even with all my imperfections, instead of trying to mold me into something that you want me to be.

Endless summer-- apologies. I did overlook your earlier reference to a merkin. I guess you could do an experiment: alternate between stage performance with the bare look and stage performances with a full merkin and see which style generates more interest and tips. For those in the market, you can purchase a merkin on Amazon (49.95) or purchase an "Ask me about my merkin" tee shirt for 19.95.

Clean shaven. I'll pass on the shag carpet look-- too hard to explain a few stray pubic hairs in the teeth to a SO. In Jim's defense, I learned a new word, merkin.

If this site is billed as the "Ultimate Strip Club List," it should include ALL strip clubs, but be clear as to the orientation of the club. Next question for Founder-- should TUSCL continue to include AMPS and Massage parlors in the listings? Including spas/massage parlors seems a bit off target for a strip club list but I appreciate knowing about some of the spas, for example those around Toronto.

PGA golfer busted paying $60 for quickie in undercover sting
Polk County and its sheriff are famous for busting men who seek to engage in consenting sex in exchange for money. What a misdirection of tax payer money. All roads into Polk County should have a warning sign, "You are entering a no sex zone. Keep it zipped and flaccid."

    Club Ratings
I like Nidan's approach but with a few minor tweaks: Rate each item on a 10 point scale. Report the average and range for each subcategory (e.g., Parking/Security = 9.2, range 6 to 10; Mileage/extras = 2.4, range 0 to 4). The calculate an overall score across all subcategories for the overall club rating on a ten point scale. Do not count ratings that are over two (or three??) years old towards the average (clubs change over time). Change the category labels slightly: The first three are OK but change the last two: Lap Dance/VIP/Champagne room cost and quality of facilities; Mileage and extras rating.

    Privacy and Photos
Would it be possible to post "teaser" photos for anyone who visit the site, and more explicit photos for members who log in? I also like the option for members to view video clips. Either model might provide some incentive to become a member. Flaccid Friday photos might go in the ED medications section.

    The New Site
Lots to like, especially the map function and the photo teasers. Thanks for the upgrade. I'll echo one of the suggestions above. I do miss the daily updates feature. I enjoy seeing a daily update of ALL reviews published, sorted by date. I used this feature from the "old" site to browse clubs that I've visited (or hoped to visit) in other parts of the world. Thanks for a great site.

As I said, feel free to charge whatever you want; just don't complain if people aren't buying at that rate. A typical VIP session probably runs 20-30 minutes so you're demanding an hourly rate of 1,000 and casting aspersions at an offer of $400/hour. I don't know many people that would turn down a job for $400/hour. Hmmmm, sounds like a serious case of GPS.

Salem Cat-- Curious, are you reliably getting customers who are willing to pay $500? How many per shift? Do you have shifts where you sell zero FS dances? You can set any price that you want; that's your prerogative. --- the trick is setting a price that customers are willing to pay. Feel free to post a few photos and convince the TUSCL customers that you're worth that investment.

^^^ The solution to unreasonable prices is pretty obvious, politely decline the inflated offer and take your business elsewhere. In a recent visit, I was quoted $500 for a VIP session, non-negotiable. Looking around at the dozen customers in the club and the 15 or so dancers on duty, I asked the dancer if she wanted to make a bet that she could not sell a 500 dollar VIP trip to one of the existing customers in the next 20 minutes. If she lost, she'd lower her VIP prices for me to 150. If she won, I'd give her $50. She didn't accept my bet, marching off instead to the dressing room and "disappeared" for the next half hour. I can't blame the dancers for selling their services for as much money as the market will bear. But i do shake my head at customers who spend 500 and up for a 20-30 minute VIP session, especially if they complain about the prices. These customers have obviously enabled the inflated price structure with their willingness to pay whatever the dancers are asking. So what is a fair price? It is obviously subjective and depends on the market (note the prices in Tijuana vs Vegas) and whether the dancer pushes all your fantasy buttons, but I'll throw out a number. For an ITC VIP experience in Metro Detroit, do not spend over 200 for FS and do not spend over 150 for a BJ.
