I loved his comment about the 40-40 club (40 home runs and 40 stolen bases in the same season) when Jose Canseco became the first to do it. I'm paraphrasing, but he said something along the lines of "if I knew it was going to be such a big deal, I'd have done it three or four times myself."

Ric Flair (or whomever posts for him) on Twitter/X capitalizes every word in every post. I have no patience for it there, and I have no patience for it here either.

Ski - of course the other thing defense attorneys (and drunk drivers) have going for them in Massachusetts is that you can refuse both the breath test and the field sobriety tests and it cannot be brought up at trial where in about 48 of the 50 states it comes in as evidence of consciousness of guilt. Yes, you automatically have your license suspended for 180 days, but the prosecution is left with an exceedingly weak case of "I smelled alcohol, his eyes were glassy and basically he looked drunk to me."

I may have one drink while playing poker as well. One drink loosens me up a bit and I actually play better. Any more than that negatively affects my play, so I don't do it. My problem is not leaving the table after I get tired. I've lost far more money at the table playing tired than playing while drinking over the years.

When I go the club, I have one drink or beer and then switch to water. One, my best friend is a drunk driving lawyer and I know how much he costs. Two, I haven't gotten drunk in about 7 years now anyway because I just can't handle hangovers anymore.

OWG - Denly's is not South Shore Bar Pizza, although it is very good and I've been going there for many years. I agree that Venus is on the list of the good ones. Ski - Poopsies is good, but there are a few better ones. Also, for anyone who doesn't know, Liberty Grille in Hingham uses the same bar pizza recipe as Poopsies, so if that is more convenient for anybody, it's basically the same thing. For those willing to try a newer place, Bosss Bah Pizza in Braintree is excellent. Take out only though.

Rockie- Denneno's closing was definitely a blow. I'll miss it.

Dr. Pepper has always been my personal favorite. Now that I'm diabetic, I've switched to Diet Dr. Pepper and it's surprisingly decent for diet soda. Still don't like Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi though.

Well, Boston drivers do have a reputation. Just yesterday I watched some moron pull an an insane U-turn in the middle of traffic on a major street full of traffic in the downtown of a suburb south of Boston and I had to ask myself how a person actually convinces themselves that it's okay to do that. On multiple occasions at a major intersection at an entrance to the highway near me, I have had drivers make a left hand turn from the right lane with no turn signal right across the front of my car. There's also a five way stop intersection near where I live that is like the Wild West.

Cheaters was something else alright. It's is unimaginable that a club could be any more blatant about extras. Some diamonds in the rough to be sure, but mostly just rough. I saw a couple of the nastiest catfights between dancers there that I've even seen as well.

After I found out I was diabetic last year, I completely changed my diet and as part of that, I go out to eat far less than I used to. I spend more on groceries now, but way less on restaurants, so it's a wash moneywise or I might even be spending less overall. Now since I'm eating out less, I much prefer to go to mom and pop type places than chains when I do. Since I live in the Boston area, there is no shortage of good to great local restaurants. I can say that from Sinclair's list in my area all the remaining Boston Markets closed, two of the Buffalo Wild Wings recently closed, there is only one Outback left, and all the Pizza Huts south of Boston closed a while ago already.

^ Doc - that is indeed a good rule of thumb. I don't recall her wearing pasties that night, but the last time I saw her, she was. Not that I would have repeated in any event, but if I did see her with pasties, I never would have taken her for a dance in the first place.

Agree about Anastasia/Stasia. Tried a VIP with her once and had a similar experience. Will not repeat. You know the old saying, fool me once...

Just about all sports arenas will no longer accept cash at the concessions stand. Not a fan of that.

I'm in my late 40s and I just feel like I cannot understand these younger generations. Then when I read something like this I realize it's not just a feeling.

I actually had a pretty good VIP with Sky a few months back. Now I've seen multiple bad reports that it appears she has picked up some bad habits. Make that REALLY bad habits. There isn't going to be a repeat that's for sure. I wouldn't refer to Chelsea as a ROB. She's just very low mileage, hardly the same thing. Nice to look at on stage and then leave it at that.

Ski - God Bless the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Bruins may be a choker organization, but Toronto is the biggest choker organization in sports. They find a way to lose. Always. They are who they are.
