Just as a comparison - it seems Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood came into the public eye about the same time. And Carrie Underwood is a goddess. She’s way more my type. I wouldn’t know a Taylor Swift song if I heard it. Except she did cover “American Girl” Tom Petty. And Carrie Underwood has covered Guns n Roses, Motley Crue, Heart and Skid Row.

The consensus seems to be that Mom ‘n Pop independent diners are the best choice when available There was a Greek diner where I used to live that actually gave you “too much food ” - and for me, that’s nearly impossible They served 4-egg omelettes and frittatas. It was one of those places that doubled the eggs so you had to be careful when ordering. Order one got your two. Two got you four. Their omelettes with gyro meat and feta were great.

I like Cracker Barrel for lunch / dinner but not my favorite for breakfast. Almost everting you order - bacon, sausage, ham, even the eggs, take on a strong hickory smoke flavor

If we are including fast food sandwiches, Dunkin (Donuts) almost can’t be beat. Their sausage egg cheese on a croissant is terrific. And their hash brown rounds are seasoned perfectly.

The demise of the Detroit auto industry began around 1978. No coincidence. My dad was a union worker so I grew up in that world. Management is also to be blame - but the UAW played a big part too. Union members grew fat and lazy. Quality on the line reached rock bottom while Toyota was kicking their ass. But workers had job protection so no fear. Instead of trying to work with management the union wanted an adversarial relationship and it continues today.

One thing I don’t like about IHOP - they add a splash of their pancake batter to their omelettes. Claims it makes it lighter and fluffier. I’d prefer just eggs and ingredients I want - especially when I’m eating low carb

Might be Bob Evans. Not truly National - most locations are east of the Mississippi concentrated in the Great Lakes states and the Mid-Atlantic. Nothing fancy - eggs, potatoes, breakfast meats. - consistent quality and usually good service. Don’t get biscuits there - horrible. Most people’s complaint - high price for a basic breakfast. A local diner could be 40% less than what they charge for the same items.

There’s been plenty of stories of clubs hiring underage dancers - so why would they have a stricter policy for illegals when every Holiday Inn Express and Speedway are hiring illegals in plain sight
