While my experience is limited in other cities, I want to echo rick's comments - Providence has some great strip clubs - topless and nude, full contact, pretty ladies, booze, and extras are available, if interested. The city also has fantastic eating, great sports teams (although BoSox sucked this year!!), and Boston is only an hour away. While I am not into the bar scene, supposedly lots of places both in Providence and Boston. I suspect you aren't looking for museums, history, or nature but we have that too. If you come in the winter, you can go skiing and in the summer, tehre are the beaches. While there is a casino less than 1/2 hour away, it is tacky. There are two decent casinos in Connecticut, about an hour away. Both has good entertainment too.
Of cource, this isn't the same as Miami or Vegas, but well worth the visit.

First, unless I know the dancer, I always do the LD first. First, some girls look much better in costume than they do out of it. I have many a saggy tit in my days once the bra comes off and there is no fucking way I am spending $130 to have someone that I don't consider moderately attractive give me a CR. Second, if their LD is lackluster, the CR is going to be a total waste of time. Third, your mileage is generally better if you get to know them a bit first, even if that means just a few LD before hand. Generally, you can get a good sense from a LD or two. Generally, this is also why I get two LD dances - if the second is more playful than the first, this is a great indication of good things to come in CR. If she just pushes your hand away, good chance, nothing happening in the LR. The middle response of "only in the VIP" is tricky because you don't know if it hype or promise - assume hype and only do the dance if a no extras dance is good enough OR you have intel from another stripper or patron.
Lastly, if I like the girl in LD, I always ask something like "how naughty do you get in the CR?" If the answer is specific, then I generally feel comfortable I know what I am going to get OR not. If the answer is vague, then I usually pass. 9 times out of 10, if the girl says something that sounds like hype, it is.

I typically wear black thin dress pants and a button down shirt although in the summer, I did wear nice shorts often. I have heard them make negative comments about the guys who aren't nicely dressed - mostly about their assumption that the nicer dressed guys have more money to spend.

Three comments - first, I posted a discussion earlier this week on my recent experience in Providence clubs looking for young talent in the afternoon - only existed in one club, which is my favorite, but I was curious to hear what others said, and it was mixed. Many suggest that better talent is to be had in the evening but not all.
Second, going within an hour of shift change from day to evening is asking for trouble in most clubs. At my favorite, shift change is at 6, so from about 5:15 to almost 7:00, the pickings are much slimmer than other times of the day. While you can always suggest management can fix this, the girls are all independent and they seem to come in when they want. I know of clubs that fine girls if they arrive after a certain time but the girls don't seem to care.
Three, I totally agree that if the club is open, a review is appropriate. After all, if the daytime shift sucks, let others know this. However, I would suggest that reviewing near shift change is not all that helpful but if you have to review at this time, please make sure you note that in the review.

I have going to clubs for well over 10 years, mostly in Rhode Island, which is an extremely liberal state regarding their strip clubs, and only recently have found a couple of young girls that kissed me on the lips either during or after the LD.
