Adelita In Trouble
@OPillini96: I don't see this as enough to close down Adelita's but it will put a strain on them. They also own Malquerida (AFAIK), so some operations may have moved over there unless that got closed down as well. The article didn't mention it. I guess someday in the future it'll all be one big block owned by the HK folks. Aren't there huge places like that in Thailand? Btw, is the board you're talking about ISG? I thought about joining that one until I actually read the TJ forums there. Seems to be about a 100:1 ratio of weird people being weird vs. useful information. :)

Hong Kong room rates
Speaking solely for myself here, I view my trips to the ZN as a hobby. If I start worrying about the cost of that hobby then that means one of two things: I do it less often, or I do something else. Complaining about it isn't a healthy or useful option for me.

Agreed on both counts. For what you can get, it's still a bargain compared to anyplace else in North America. I also wish they'd put a restaurant in Cascadas that's inside the secure perimeter.

Beware of Mesero 60
Ditto. No sense in bringing a wad of small bills when you can get them so easily there. Having said that, though, if I have to break a 50 or 100 I'll do that at the bar, not with a mesero.

Cell Phone Discretion
When you go into TJ, your phone will connect to the nearest cell repeater by default. Usually, this means one of the Mexican repeaters, and what happens is that whichever MX cell company yours is partnered with (probably Telcel or AT&T Mexico) will register you locally as a roaming customer. There are ways to override this behavior, but it depends on your particular phone and your carrier so I'd check with them to see if it's even possible. If it is, you can force it to stay on your home network with the caveat that, in the ZN, the signal will likely be absolute crap because the US cell towers aren't that close. A signal booster might help, but it's not the sort of thing you'll want to carry around in the bars. You could in principle spoof being in the US via something like Google Voice, but that would mean giving her a completely different number to use and I'm not sure it'll work the way you want it to when you're out of the country.

Working on the new site...
@CallMeIshmael There is a flipside to that: preserving privacy. People may not be aware that the public parts of this site are indexed by Google and other search engines and may not want what they post to be quite that public. In the EU I think that any citizen there has the right to request that removal, so Founder may not have a choice in the matter.

CC not allowing smoking
I see it as a good thing too, but enforcement of it will be uneven because the venues will basically be policing themselves. If I still smoked, I would take some time to see how the establishment and the people inside it react to others doing it first because the last thing you want to do is get into a confrontation over it while you're in a different country. Especially in a country with the law enforcement issues that Mexico has.

You should really look Bill Engvald up to tell him this, because Here's Your Sign... If this is what you got on your third visit to HK then yeah, maybe try something else. There are more than a dozen decent articles on this site to help you avoid being a dumbass in the Zona Norte and you appear to have decided not to read any of them before going there multiple times.

Colombia, DR, CR, Thailand etc.
Can't speak to many of these places because I haven't been yet, but from a North American perspective TJ is still the best option IMO. Easy to get to and the ZN packs a lot of opportunities into a small, walkable space. I went to CR last year and I don't see myself going back just for this hobby. Still on my list to try are the FKKs in Germany, Columbia when my Spanish is better, and Thailand when I have enough fun money at one time to invest in the trip.

Parking in San Ysidro near Pedeast
Driving a rental car over the border is a bad idea and often not as convenient as parking in San Ysidro. The lot behind the Jack in the Box is the closest to PedEast, about a five minute walk. It can also be a pain to get out of as the intersection that gets you on the road to the highway can be very congested. There is also a big lot across from the outlet mall and PedWest (which is still closed to foot traffic, I think). It's a 10 minute walk to PedEast but it's easier to get out of and accepts plastic. There are also smaller lots scattered around but they tend to be pricier and only worth it if it's really busy. It's been a while since I've driven all the way down there but I think the two big lots are around $20 for a full day and the smaller lots are slightly more.

Good stuff, glad you enjoyed it. A couple of notes: If you go for VIP in the club and you're not going all the way then the BG will be happy with $50-60 as a tip (on top of the VIP fee). You did fine, but just be aware that you could have got away with spending a bit less. On the subject of Jacuzzi vs. Master vs. Penthouse in Cascadas, I usually opt for a Master room because you get a lot of space compared to the Jacuzzi rooms. I personally don't think the more expensive rooms are worth the extra money. Welcome to the club.

Staying anonymous at Cascadas
The other gents' comments are spot on. The recent violence against the women working in the ZN is becoming a big concern for them. As far as using the info you give them for nefarious purposes goes, it would be bad for business and right now they really need the business. Your only recourse from a privacy standpoint would be to stay somewhere else (like Hotel Ticuan) and sticking to the short time rooms at Cascadas. Be aware that you're still on candid camera in the club and the hotel lobby so you're not truly anonymous.

Dollars or Pesos in Tijuana?
If you're going after street girls, maybe go with pesos. If you're sticking to the clubs, I wouldn't bother. The biggest Mexican bill is 500 pesos so you're going to end up with a giant wad of cash that you need to keep track of. Things like tipping gets more complicated as well as a buck tip becomes 20 pesos and you'll never have many of those on you. Get maybe a couple of thousand pesos for sundries and food and stick with USD for the rest. Easier on the brain.

Seeking advice from the veterans (Puta burnout)
@Ballin69: Sex and love are two different things, yes. In my experience, a relationship is about 1% sex and 99% mundane things like shopping for groceries or watching TV. All guys are scared to approach random girls, on varying levels. There is no normal for that because everyone is unique. Your therapist is qualified to advise you, not me, but I can offer is a Samuel Beckett quote to consider in this: "Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better." If you're brave, consider the context of that quote in the rest of _Worstward, Ho_.

I've paid for stays there with a credit card, which means that they photocopy a picture ID. No issues to date, and the first time I did that was a few years ago now. I wouldn't worry overmuch.

Based on your prior reviews, I'm going to assume that this is not a troll... It sounds like you're in it only for the sex, not the companionship. What you're missing here are social skills IMO. You're never going to be able to buy love; you have to put in the work to make that kind of connection. Go out and make yourself some female friends and figure out how to communicate, and relate to them, and enjoy their company, or forever wonder why getting sex alone isn't making you happy.

Roaming the USA
First trip, won't be the last.
If fichas are your main concern, CC is easily the best option in the Zona... your money goes a long way here. Agree on the rooms. Jalos is truly a shithole. This is the only bar in the ZN where I'll consider the VIP booths as a viable option as long as you BYOWW (bring your own wet wipes) or at least make sure the girl has got some beforehand. ;)

Cascadas hotel room: changing linens
I dunno if it's because I'm living right, but I haven't had them knock on my door every day in 10+ years of visits though others have said it can happen (even then it seems to happen once in a multi-day stay, not every day). Not sure what the brothel vs. vacation hotel comment is about since if it were the latter then housekeeping would be expected. The general rule of thumb in many mid-range hotels elsewhere in Mexico is to ask for your room to be cleaned, and if you don't then they won't bother. I've had my room card randomly go dead on me a handful of times, but like any other hotel that gets resolved easily by a quick visit to the registration desk. This is also an occasional thing, not a daily thing. Outside of the brothel part, Cascadas is a pretty normal hotel for Mexico.

Cascadas hotel room: changing linens
Um, what are you thinking of when you say "changing the linens" here? I assumed you meant the sheets, which is to say, las sabanas. :-) Trust me, they don't bat an eye when you ask for either more towels or more sheets (or both). Using a fresh sheet on top of the existing one in the bed for a session with a girl is a common thing so they have plenty available for the asking. Some more experienced BGs will actually insist on it.
