Dollars or Pesos in Tijuana?

captainfun
new city, new club
Will be in Tijuana for a couple days this week. Current exchange rate is $1 = 19.78 pesos.

I have been to TJ three times in the past three years and have always used dollars for my own ease. Any of you find that using pesos is better? I did a search on this topic and don’t see a recent thread. My Spanish is pretty solid.

If you're dealing with a paradita (street girl in Zona Norte), they prefer pesos. It's also a better deal for you, especially since you speak Spanish solidly. As for the clubs, the dollar is king.

I will play along and answer your questions:

Q: Dollars or Pesos in Tijuana?
A: Dollars, because The Dollar is King in Tijuana and most of the world.

Q: Any of you find that using pesos is better?
A: NO; it is an inconvenience and it cost you money to change from Dollars to Pesos and the time that it takes, time is money.

It is easy to make the calculations in your head if you round to 20 pesos to a dollar.

However it is better to just buy/pay-for things you can afford and fell good about paying a good price, to you, and hopefully to the seller, for the goods and services.

With the right mindset and realistic expectations, most heterosexual men will have a good time at Hong Kong because it is, according to Krusty, the Happiest Place on Earth.

You should consider that one of the many highlights of the Happiest Place on Earth is that, for most American tourists, prices are relatively inexpensive by US standards.

So don’t overthink or complicate things, don’t worry be happy and of course be careful out there.

Behave like a clean shaven gentleman and you will be treated like a gentleman.

And remember Pics and Vids or it didn’t happen.

If you're going after street girls, maybe go with pesos. If you're sticking to the clubs, I wouldn't bother. The biggest Mexican bill is 500 pesos so you're going to end up with a giant wad of cash that you need to keep track of. Things like tipping gets more complicated as well as a buck tip becomes 20 pesos and you'll never have many of those on you. Get maybe a couple of thousand pesos for sundries and food and stick with USD for the rest. Easier on the brain.
