Best bet for Detroit style experience is either the Playhouse in Burlington NJ, or the other one in NJ with tents. Dont waste your time in DC.

I vote for the Detroit area of the great state of Michigan. Houston has (had?) some great clubs, but the contact was all over the board - from air to wow. On the other hand, the Motor City has consistently high contact throughout the spectrum, from low life (Henry VIII South) to the "champagne" standard (Flight Club) along with some delightful little joints in the middle. Middle NJ area is two clubs - Cheeks and Playhouse - and they are a half hour from each other. I agree they are good contact - but two clubs do not a city/state make.

I think that the "regular" SC patrons are missing the point here. If you are a regular you know the specials - and the special days. I am not talking about a twofer on the hour kind of thing. Travelers (i.e. non regulars) who comprise quite a bit of the readership here, would benefit from knowing what the deals are.

All of the above with the caffeine and such - with the radio too. But one thing I do is roll down the window - especially if it is cold outside. Very difficult to doze off with wind in your face.

IMHO - Portland clubs come in two varieties. No touch air dance palaces - or kinda strip club more like a brothel (Sugar Shack) Read the reviews - they tell the story.
