As a new dancer (judging from your profile), you might want to consider getting acquainted with the TUSCL glossary (see the link in the menu at the top of each page).

A dancer pinched my arm one night and it left a reasonably large bruise after a couple of days. Plus, it fuckin' hurt when she did it. She apologized, but I don't know what possesses a chick to do that to a stranger. Managed to keep it out of sight of the Mrs. for a while but eventually she saw it. Had to make up a good story, but she bought it.
If I feel any dancer is going to leave a mark (e.g., a hickey or something that wouldn't be hidden by clothing), I'm usually quick to pull back and tell them to cool it. After a while, marks like that just raise suspicions, and I don't need (or want) that. Thankfully, it doesn't happen very often.

ddreksler - thanks. I visited Industrial Strip a few weeks ago and I agree with your assessment. It sounds like I'll need to drive down to either Harvey or Indiana to find anything really worthwhile. I appreciate everyone's feedback!

Thanks aalexium and dennyspade for the info on the Harvey clubs. I might try taking a ride down there to check 'em out.
I've been reluctant to head down to Gary, IN given that that city used to hold the #1 position on the list of Most Dangerous Cities in America (seriously!). There are limits to my quest for a great lap dance, and avoiding clubs/cities with gunplay is one of 'em! ;-)

"when you say everything is centered, do you mean that all the text is centered, or the site is centered on the page?"
The only page I've come across with everything centered is the search results page. Probably could be left-justified. All other pages look as they should.

I'll take the less-flashy version of a site over an image-laden site (like SCL) any day. On a site like this, the primary activity on this site is READING, so a lack of images actually serves to speed things up when clicking from page to page. The trade-off with this approach is that text-heavy sites tend to look too busy because it's really easy to present too much information at one time. Considerable thought has to go into the presentation: choices made for layout, flow of text and font size are all important in this case.
As I (and others) have said, I feel that the Recent Reviews page is far too busy now. That's the page I have bookmarked, and I land on it first when I come here. I suppose I could just change my bookmark to point to the "abbreviated" list, but that page has the club name, city and state information bunched too close together for easy scanning. Please, spread the information out! (FYI, I've designed web sites for a living, so I know what I'm talking about here.)

Have now had a little more time to look thru the new features. I agree with minnow that the page that maps clubs was much better when both the map and the list of clubs were displayed on the same page. I am trying to figure out what the logic was to separate them onto 2 different pages - can't think of a good reason other than generating page views for site traffic purposes. I hope this will change back to the way it was before, with the map and list (with numbers that correspond between the list and the map) all on one page.
I like the new sorting options on the page that is displayed when clicking on a city name. However, I'm thinking that there's a bug or two on this page. First, when I sort on "Reviews," the resulting list does not appear to be sorted by the number of reviews (which is what I expected) – is it supposed to be? Also, when I sort on "Default City Sort," the results don't appear to be in any type of order by city, either. Finally, if there's an option to sort on "Last Review" (which I assume means last review date), then the last review date for each club should be displayed within the club information.
I would really like to see more sorting features like these on other pages, too (such as the old version of the Recent Reviews page). On that page, it would have been great to be able to sort on any column (club name, city, state, rating or reviewer).

First the good: the site response time seems to have improved dramatically.
Font size was too large earlier, but seems to have been decreased - also good.
Now the not-so-good:
I prefer the old format of the Recent Reviews page to the new one. I could quickly scan it for cities/club names that I was interested in. There's WAY TOO MUCH information on the page now. Would be nice to have a profile option to choose either the new version or the old version as your default.
The "100 Clubs with the Most Recent Reviews" page would be greatly improved if the cities and states were displayed in their own columns, separate from the club names. Trying to quickly scan the info on the page now is tedious. Even better would be the ability to re-sort the list by club name or city or state (but that's probably not going to happen anytime soon).

After a brief purge, it looks like loki's back and his most recent Playhouse Lounge review is (as the Talking Heads would say) "same as it ever was." In its entirety:
"This club is great. Nice relaxing environment and lovely ladies. Great place to come and unwind or have a bachelor party. The VIP rooms are highly recommended, you definetely [sic] leave with a smile on your face. If you're having a bad day come here and you're sure to leave in a much better mood."
Never mind that the review is recycled .... it's not even INTERESTING. It's so generic and non-specific that it can be applied to almost any club out there. This is the height of TUSCL laziness.
Founder: why even approve such fluff?

A couple of years ago it was in the Top 5. Hasn't been in the Top 10 in a long time.
BTW, will this site ever go back to the Top 40 lists? 10 just isn't enough.

I've been on Comcast in NJ for about 15 months. I don't like very much about the company, but I have to say that I've had no problems with the high-speed Internet access.

Shadow -- I hate to be a stickler, but you can't average averages (well, you can, but the result doesn't reflect reality).
In your scenario, 10 reviews with a rating of 10 each plus 1 review with a rating of 2 gives 11 total reviews with an aggregate rating total of 102 (10x10 + 1x2). That averages out to almost 9.3 (102 divided by 11), not the 6 that you state above.
So, the guys who keep submitting "10" ratings in their reviews keep driving up the aggregate total, which in turn drives up the overall rating.

The Playhouse's ratings are obviously getting a lift with all these "10" reviews in March, which leads me to suggest that Founder make a small change to the site.
TUSCL doesn't give you a free month of VIP credit for a review if it's for a club which you had reviewed in the past 30 days. However, the review will still be posted. Herein lies the problem - I would suggest that the 30-day rule apply to the ratings as well, so that if someone submits 5 reviews for a club within 30 days, the ratings on those "non-VIP-eligible" reviews would be displayed but would NOT get factored into the club's overall rating.
This change obviously wouldn't stop someone from creating 30 different TUSCL aliases and submitting a review under each one, but it would stop the "ratings inflation" created by the ones who persistently review clubs every few days.

It seems like a lot of Playhouse reviews have hit this board over the last week. True, Playhouse is one of the most-reviewed NJ clubs and happens to be among the best -- maybe the best -- we've got. That said though, the most recent reviews don't seem to have been written by guys who have been going to clubs for very long. While the PH is a really good club, there are definitely downsides to it, too (read the reviews if you want to know them).
Four of the most recent reviewers (crazyeights, nebukanazzer, cems and mi2hap) have all joined TUSCL in the last 10 days. Among them, they have submitted 9 reviews. All 9 have been for the Playhouse. Maybe it's a campaign, but I think it's just a group of friends having some fun and talking up a club that's probably new to them. At least they're reviewing a club that's worthy of the reviews.

"The other one in NJ" referred tp above is Cheeks in Pemberton. Unfortunately, I hear that it's now a shadow of its former self. The Playhouse is worth the trip, though.

Gator - don't jump to too many conclusions. I heard that they offered OTC, and that was what brought the charges. Didn't hear anything that made it sound like HJs were to blame. Hell, if that was true, they could've arrested almost every girl there, and Ruby would probably be looking at 20 to life! ;-)
The article I saw stated their ages: EE, 48, of Freehold; EC, 49, of Newark; PB, 36, of Rahway; SB, 43, of Delran; LA, 43, of Hillside; and GU, 25, of Woodbury. Note that 4 of the dancers are over 40 years old. They probably don't make a lot with lap dances, so they go the OTC route to make it up!
Also, "years of no LE issues" isn't exactly correct. Remember the crackdown that happened this past April? Took a couple of months, but things got back to normal. I suspect that will happen again - just hang tight.

Oh, I forgot the best part ..... this happened to occur on the same day that the news broke that a former Burlington City cop was acquitted on bestiality charges. No, I'm not kidding. Investigators found a video of this cop getting blown by his 5 farm animals (cows) and he wins the case because he somehow proves it was consensual.

They had the PH info for 8 months, but waited to release it on the day of the acquittal. It's all political.

If by "discussions" you actually mean "retarded back-and-forth insults and flame-baiting," then you're right.
Other than getting some laughs out of the idiotic posts over there, I think SCL is worthless.
