I hate to say it but the club that I go to most is allowing pimps to take up space ITC. I discussed this with a house mom recently and she acknowledged that it is going on in increasing numbers. I have watched and can identify which dancers belong to which pimps and I will not spend any money on them. Allowing pimps in the club is right up there with boy friends and husbands. It is a recipe for drama with potential violence. I can remember signs on the front door of clubs prohibiting boy friends, etc. So why would management allow this to happen? Fear of losing dancers? Scared of the pimps?
Drug dealers in the club is a dangerous thing when it comes to law enforcement action but at least they attracted dancers. Pimps do nothing.
I can't imagine why any SC manager would think this is a good idea, unless it's part of a kickback. Pimp offers to kick back 20% (or whatever) of the stripper's take, but his condition is that he can stay and watch her if he wants. If management is not getting a kickback, there's nothing but monstrous downsides. Customers notice and absolutely hate it. I suppose the girls might work a little harder if they know they're being watched
If I'm suspecting that a girl has a pimp and he's In The Building, I'm not getting any dances and/or VIP from that girl. I'm seeing that as a recipe for getting beat up. She starts screaming that I owe her money, Pimp comes over and "enforces" payment. No thanks. I would just move on.
I don’t like them either but I assume it’s more common than the avg SCer is aware of – at the end of the day the pimps are business-minded and likely prefer to stay in the shadows – i.e. I assume the pimps know it’s bad for (their) business to start trouble with a customer and this is likely part of the arrangement w/ the club (that they don’t cause any trouble) – at the end of the day that is what the staff is there for, to deal with issues b/w a custy and a dancer.
I recall one early-evening at Follies around 8pm – a 30-something black-dude and a late-20s white-chick walk in and you could tell they were not custies and more like “business people” – they were talking to some of the dancers but it was often the chick doing the talking and they never got any dances – the black-dude noticed me getting dance-after-dance from the ebonies and he said something along the lines of “you like black girls huh”; I said yes then he hands me a card that was for an escort service which I assume he and his girl either ran or were associated with.
This sounds like a bad idea. If we notice a Pimp in a club, then I’m sure the manager knows too. So, I’d expect there to be kick backs to allow the Pimp to stay and keep an eye on his girls.
In the case of a husband or boyfriend being in the club, that’s creepy and stalker like behavior, and it rarely is a good thing. In certain cases, the husband is the pimp, and hopefully he keeps it all business.
It’s a setup that has several possible outcomes, and about 99% of the outcomes are bad.
The 1% is that you could negotiate directly with the pimp on a slow night - and get a discount if you give him your gold tooth for VIP?
Before it was forced to close, at the the Harem in Dayton most of the pimps /dealers would be sitting at or near the bar in the back. Never understood either why the club allowed them to go there, especially since it ended up being the downfall of the club.
The old Follies had its fair share. You would give a girl money for dances or VIP and sometimes they would go to a guy across the room and give him the money. Not real prevalent, but they were there.
Same management and a lot of the same dancers at shadow's new favorite club. Not surprised the same thing is happening there, but disappointed.
If a club's business strategy is to have inexpensive extras, then, morality aside, having pimped "dancers" is the most effective way to succeed. It's rare that a non-pimped sex worker who provides penetrative sex is going to chose the low-price, high-volume approached. Only a pimp with strong mind-fucking skills can get someone to be that self-destructive.
Managers are the biggest pimps. If prostitution goes on whether the girl has a pimp or not they get a cut.
Snd you'd be surprised at which girls are pimped. Often times it's the ones you least expect coz they're taught to be the best actresses.
As far as high volume goes. Every hooker working a club does as many tricks as she can. Some girls find working the blade a lot less stressful than a club hustle.

That's an over-generalization - the market often sets the price - some places/areas/clubs are naturally more expensive and some naturally less expensive - the counter-argument can be made of the pimp making sure she charges more so *he* gets more; which I assume is more the case - I doubt pimps are the ones setting the price of things in a club.
I don't know much about pimps but it was my understanding that a pimp provides security for a girl in exchange for a cut of the money. In a strip club, the club provides the security and the girl gives the club a percentage of her income. In any issue between the girl and a customer, I feel like a club would be more impartial than a pimp and not favor the strippers over the customers because they want the long-term business of the customers. They would do this because they have large sunk costs in long term fixed assets like the building and any furnishings inside the building plus the land the building sits on and they want to protect this big investment. Most customers would be aware of this and favor the clubs providing any security needed.
When sex workers have pimps, they are more likely to be physically harmed by their pimps than by their customers. They are effectively enslaved by their pimps. There may be pimps who only use emotional manipulation and not physical abuse or the threat of it, but that's a minority.
Sex worker without pimps may work with security people or promoters. It's slanderous to call those people pimps. They can be prosecuted under the same laws as pimps, because they are "receiving the proceeds of prostitution". But that's just yet another example of how the US criminal "justice" system is at least as big a threat to non-criminals as official criminals are.
At Teaser's in Durham, NC, the VIP troll use to badger the dancers trying to turn them out. That was quite few years ago, hopefully he quit or got run over by a truck or something.
I've not noticed a lot of it, but I agree that in the few cases where I've even suspected that's what it was, I've walked away from the situation entirely.
Any time prostitution is done there are always other people involved in providing the safe space for it. So they get some of the money. And this is fair, because they have expenses.
Prostitution is not free love, but it is one of the most important ways of breaking down the rules of approved courtship and intimacy.
Shadow - I think I've seen them, too. Usually, perched up on the back of the bench seat by the left VIPs (when facing the bar), right? I agree, if a girl is represented by any of them, I'd back off...

Club managers promoters whatever are some of the worst pimps. They prey on desperation and naivette. Like Rick Dugan.
A real pimp elevates hoes when they choose up
