Tiger King: gay redneck and wacky bunch of characters abuse tigers and definitely kill their husbands. Worth a watch.
Shitt's Creek: Rich entitled family loses everything, so they have to move into the small blue collar town they bought years ago. Predictable culture clash ensues. This has gotten a lot of hype on the internet; I've watched the first four episodes and it's funny. Maybe not as funny as the internet makes it out to be, but liking it so far and plan to continue watching.
Spenser Confidential: Officer Marky Mark gets out of prison; solves crime. The internet didn't love this, but I did. Mindless fun action. And, Lord help me, I like anything Marky Mark is in.
Altered Carbon Season 2: Scifi action series where people's consciousness is downloaded into hardware "stacks", which can be inserted into bodies ("sleeves"). I liked it, but this kind of show is my thing. If you're not a scifi action series fan, this won't turn you into one. If you are, start with season 1 (which was better than season 2)
93 Days: Focuses on the ebola outbreak in Nigeria. Really good, I thought
Wicked Witches: Man comes home to find his buddy in thrall of evil witches. Fair-to-middling.
Equilibrium: scifi set in a future world where post-war, emotions are outlawed in order to prevent future wars. Got praise as a great scifi sleeper, but I found myself bored and stopped partway through
Yeah I went ahead and saw tiger king after NJB said you gotta watch it on here. The fuck kind of hillbilly redneck ass shit was that? Pretty good though
I was hoping you guys would get the point that you should post specific shows and movies that are good, so the rest of us can watch them (or avoid them, in the case of bad shows). Yes, I already know you guys are watching shows and movies on Netflix, Hulu, and other sources!
Just watched "Keeping the Faith" with Ben Stiller and Jenna Elfman I had forgotten this movie but a good fun story I've been watching a lot of old movies on TCM
Damn, we're on season 3 of westworld? I guess we are. I'm on the current season, so correcting my preivous statement, season 3. How are you liking it compared to 1 & 2? The premise of the park was so fascinating on its own; lost something for me going out to the real world
I'm mainly into watching documentaries - been catching up on ESPN 30-for-30s and have seen maybe 8 or 10 different ones - most have been pretty-good/interesting; two of them I only watched a bit and stopped b/c I didn't find them to my liking.
I started watching "Tiger King" - not my cup-of-tea - I'm not into enjoying drama - it was mostly negative shit - I only watched the first 3-episodes and intend to finish the series out-of-curiosity but I find it depressing - I rather watch something uplifting w/ a happy-ending (no pun intended).
Check out these 2 episodes: -Slaying the Badger (about Tour de France riders Greg LeMond and Bernard Hinault) - best 30 for 30 I've seen and that's saying something because there's some great ones. -Hawaiian: The Legend of Eddie Aikau (about the 1970s big wave surfer) -
After having Dish Network for many years I just got tired of their constant price increases and dropped them a few years ago and switched to basic cable but the same thing happened with nickel-dime price increases so I also dropped cable a few months ago. I miss them at times but there were many times when having over a hundred channels available and nothing interesting to watch and their wanting to charge me more for that dubious programing that convinced me to say fuck it. I had access to a friend's Netflix account for awhile but didn't have much time back then to watch it and wasn't impressed anyway.
I've always had an over the air antenna so that's my TV now, free TV and most of the time it sucks but there are exceptions. Right now I'm watching Brooklyn's Finest a gritty cop drama on the Bounce Network. I've seen it a few times in the past and IMO it's always worth another viewing. Bounce has had a couple other movies recently that I've seen before but always like watching when they're on and I have the free time, The Last Boy Scout and Traitor are 2 others. Also the Movies Network has had a few of what I consider 70s-80s classics recently. I also watch Nova and Frontline on PBS. So with no premium movies, sports, or 24 hour news networks, and no interest in streaming I'm stuck with very little to watch but it's the choice I made.
I switched from Cable TV to YouTube TV - I don't get as many channels but most stuff on TV these days I find hard ro get into (get off my damn lawn) - I pay $56/mo including taxes and get most of the sports-channels which is my main-interest.
Adding to my previous post regarding the "Movies" network. Right now one of my ATF westerns, The Wild Bunch is on followed by one of my ATF adventures, Papillon starring Steve McQueen at 4:40 EST, both very highly recommended by me.
My local PBS-station is showing an interesting program tonight called "The Gene" (Ken Burns explores the science, history and personal stories of the human genome) - it may be a repeat of an earlier airing and not sure if PBS stations in other areas are showing it.
Another interesting show on PBS tonight (9pm Eastern):
"The Truth About Fat"
"... Do we control our fat, or does it control us? For generations, overweight individuals have been stigmatized and cast as lazy. But scientists are coming to understand fat as a fascinating and dynamic organ—one whose size has more to do with biological processes than personal choices. Through real-life stories of hunter-gatherers, sumo wrestlers, and supermodels, NOVA explores the complex functions of fat and the role it plays in controlling hunger, hormones, and even reproduction. (Premiering April 8 at 9 pm on PBS) ..."
Yeah - I had already seen "Slaying the Badger" since I've been a fan of "The Tour De France" since the 80s and Lemond was my fave cyclist (although I have not watched The Tour in the last few-years) - it was a good documentary but not sure if someone not iton cycling would enjoy it (have not seen the surfer one)
^ These 30 for 30 episodes were also pretty good I thought: -Catching Hell (Steve Bartman and Cubs fans) -The Marinovich Project (NFL bust Todd Marinovich) - he was in high school in SoCal Orange County same time as me and he was big news back then -Elway to Marino (1983 NFL Draft) - for NFL Draft dweebs like me -I Hate Christian Laettner -9.79* (1988 Olympics 100m race, steroid guy Ben Johnson, and Carl Lewis)
And this is the one I want to see but haven't: Of Miracles and Men (Miracle on Ice from the point of view of Soviet Union team)
I saw "Elway to Marino" - I thought it was very good - have not seen the others you mentioned
One that I really enjoyed was "Requiem For The Big East" which described the creation of the Big East basketball conference in 1979 and how it coincided w/ ESPN beginning around that same time and how they both helped each other in getting-going
As a big cat with a rick-quality immune system I am not worried about this coronavirus. However, I’ve realized that I’ve grown used to the hustle and bustle of you damn dirty apes living your trivial lives. So I’m mostly relaxing at home. Occasionally having my vulture bud over for cocktails, but otherwise I’m being a mellow rick.
In terms of television, my pre-corona life was too exciting to warrant subscribing to streaming services. Probably just as good because if I had Netflix I’d want to go wildebeest on all the fucking apes in that Tiger King bullshit. ROAR!!!
Hulu has all past seasons of Top Chef, y favorite cooking show, so that's been my personal porn. Cooking shows in general.
Also, new episodes of very trashy reality shows from Bravo TV. It's a great escape.
And, South Park. Gotta keep laughing somehow and that gets the job done.
Hunkering with my mom, so we watch a lot of super old movies that were released before both of us were born (usually).
Oh, and my mom's been watching Wentworth on my Netflix account so I've been forced to watch that, too... it's decent, but she was halfway through the series when I started watching it so I can't keep up. She hasn't seen Netflix's "YOU," and I know she will like it, I've already watched it all so far but that will probably be our next binge show.
I've been watching The Shield, Lost, and Sons of Anarchy from my old DVD collection. Nothing else out there that interests me. Watched Birds of Prey on demand, and holy shit was it bad. Saw that final Star Wars movie, too. It was nearly as bad as the one before. Maybe that's why I went back to some really great,well-made TV series.
Another interesting PBS show tonight (10pm Eastern) - "The Cold War Story" - seems it's a multi-part series and may be a repeat (not sure if PBS stations in other areas are airing it).
I havent watched Star Trek since Next Generation and Deep Space Nine. I binged watched "Picard" recently and it has led me to watch "Star Trek Discovery" in 3 days. Great show, and a lot easier to follow than the continual mind fuck that is WestWorld.
tech training videos, classes. You gotta practice your craft and constantly improve. Also Deep Space 9, since I couldn't catch it since when I originally aired, I was pre-occupied with High School, school activities, work, or girls at the time. Looking forward to the part where the Dominion War starts!
I started watching Zerozerozero on Amazon Prime. It is a series (not sure how many episodes) about a cocaine shipment, starting from when Italian criminals buy it, it's journey through Mexico and trip across the Atlantic. So far, at least, it's a super interesting, complex look at the dynamics in Mexico, the American family brokering the deal, and the Italians. Definitely need to pay attention to keep on top of what's going on as the three stories all intermesh

also been drinking way too much adult beverage.
I got nothing!
Ridiculousness, Cops, Alaska State Troopers.
There are a couple of hosts on HGTV who I’d like to stop over and help me with a blumpkin...

Catching up on video games. Splurged on a new VR headset, so I've been playing with that.
