The dancer.quality in Portland, OR has deteriorated substantially

Welcome to American Strip Clubs in 2025. Quality is mostly crap everywhere now. That a bummer to hear, I always thought Portland was one of the best strip club cities. I was at Club Rouge in 2023 and quality was the best I had seen since Covid. So far nothing has measured up to that visit anywhere in this country. You could always try Rouge and see how things are, or head up to Canada and see how things are outside of the USA sex prison.

Dancer quality has been deteriorating here in Indianapolis. I have also noticed more customers sitting in the club and not spending money. It is hard to tell if more customers who do not spend money is causing attractive girls to not work in the clubs or lack of attractive strippers is keeping high spenders away. Probably some of both. Another problem here is that many strip clubs are old clubs in declining neighborhoods that are turning into slums. There has not been a new strip club open here in decades.

The big size is more popular and in demand these days among younger guys

@docsavage The strip club industry is what we call a sunset industry. The aggregate pool of money being spent in the clubs is not growing, only steadily declining. Aside from many zoning and bureaucratic hurdles of opening a club. If you were an investor would you want to stake your capital on an industry that is gets smaller every year. As far as quality of dancers and money spent. Personally I don’t go to the clubs much and I am extremely tightfisted with my money and only spend it when I think there is a very good potential upside. The days of throwing a bunch of money at random girls and seeing what sticks are over for me.

The whole dancer conundrum is chicken and egg question. I don’t know if since quality of girls is down people are spending less. Or if since everyone is in debut up to the eyeballs and struggling to afford groceries there is less money to entice the top girls so they simply move on to other money making pursuits. I suspect it is a combination of both. What I do know is if I go to a club and I don’t like the girls or I feel I am not getting adequate value for my dollar I buy one beer drink it, and than peace the fuck out of there.

The over tattooed, alt, & lesbian Portland stripper has become ubiquitous in this city and is one of the reasons it is no longer desirable to club. Also yes to the increase in below average and chubby strippers.

I will again anecdotally attribute all this to the increase in dance prices which is driving down the business. Not many PLs are willing to spend $50-60 per dance so there are less that even bother to club. The scene here used to be where a club was like a local bar that just happened to have a stage for stripping and offer cheap(ish) $25-30 private dances. A hottie would have to dance in volume to make money but at least there was a steady supply of customers and even ones that would have normally passed on a dance were it not as cheap. Clubs have lowered their standards as a result but still not many want to pay ridiculous dance prices. It's become the new normal and I don't see things changing.

There's perhaps some irony in the many posts about how clubs are generally going downhill, and also many talking about how simpy PLs who don't get extras/OTC are. @joshuastuden It's not too far of a drive from Portland down to Springfield, so you could pay a visit to Sweet Illusions, and see if you can find some dancers there that are to your liking. They had some really attractive ladies there when I checked out the place last year!

@Someguyontheinternet I agree that the declining economy and so many people in debt and struggling to make ends meet has led to less money being spent in strip clubs and the most attractive girls are less interested in working there because of that.

I have read several articles on the internet about declining sales at Starbucks recently and various ideas to change that. I doubt these ideas will work because buying five dollar cups of coffee is also the type of discretionary spending people cut back on when they are short on money.

Portland's prices are completely nuts. Strippers in Portland regularly post about how dead it is there, but for whatever reason, dancers keep asking for more instead of lowering their prices to drive up demand. Single song dances are basically too high to just get a test dance.

I think Portland just has too many strip clubs. It's too watered down. I mean how many strippers can a medium sized metro have? A few spots close, you condense it a little bit maybe these places won't hire anybody. Consolidation will up the quality of dancer IMO.

Don't go to Portland unless you like 200lb Dykes or Meth Junkies.
