Penthouse Update

It does not sound good for what was once considered Detroit's best strp club. Our friends over on TwoSheds have reported that Penthouse has shut down for 6 months due to multiple violations from the Liquor Comission. When/if they do re-open, I imagine that they won't be in business for long.

Thanks for the update, the way the manager was acting on my last visit a few weeks back would support a total shutdown down the road. Oh well.

Curious to see what the violations were. 6 months closed is going to kill that place with how things are doing in Detroit with clubs I expect to see a few more clubs close. The suburb Wanye county clubs might be the new it thing for a minute till the get messed with.

My agent was at Legends last night and told me it's shut down for 3-6 months because the lawyers lost to some loophole.

Thanks for the update. Last time I was there I was hanging out upstairs watching stage and Asian bartender comes over and tells me to order a drink or leave. What a bitch. I went back downstairs.
Legends was ok. Flight club is ok. Just not worth the long drive from ohio.

My semi regular OTC ex-PH girl also told me while they are shut down they are remodeling the upstairs bar moving it back which eliminates the curtained VIP areas behind the bar. Apparently things are going to be more opened up and observable to meet the new interpretations of the regulations.

Oh, Samsung dont take it personal with her. That is the standard club rule upstairs. No drink no chair.

New interpretation of the regulations? That's cute.

If the club posted a sign saying "private conversation rooms" would that be protected by the first amendment and allow the curtains to stay up?

While it's not quite like telling a kid Disneyland just closed, because Mickey, Minnie and Pluto have all moved down the street for now, it's the virtual death of what might have been the best club between the coasts.

You wonder just how many guys had life-changing experiences behind those curtains. Now, no more. Damn shame.

No, the wording in the Ordinance states a VIP area is to have no obstructed view. Regardless of what they call it or a sign labeling it, it would still be obstructed. I posted the link to the Ordinance before under my old account.

Penthouse's ad in Metro Times news stand edition says they're remodeling and re-pening May 4. Sometimes schedules aren't met but this may be different.

The house mom from PHC was just hired at Legends. She said she got to see the remodeling when she went to get her things and described the vip situation. It sounds like it's going to end up being set up like Legends' vip. She said the vips are being expanded. Some storage closet is being made into part of the vip now and the current vip area is being moved to a different area of the building. I've never been to PHC, so I couldn't picture what she was saying.
