I'm sure there are some hockey fans on this board. The new NHL season starts tonight.
Blues vs. Penguins is the game that is on right now if you are in the USA.
Maple Leafs vs. Jets is the game that is on right now if you are in Canada.
My Red Wings begin their season at the new arena tomorrow night, but I don't have very high expectations for them this season. They really need a new GM in order for this team to actually rebuild.
If there is one team I really don't like, it is the Penguins, but coming off back-to-back Stanley Cups, right now I would have to say they are the early favorite to win it all.

I used to live and breath Red Wings and hockey in general. I suppose that was when I had season tickets at the Olympia and then the Joe. Gave up the season tix and it's just not the same any more for me. the game doesn't translate well to tv, and the players just don't seem to have the work ethic anymore once embodied by Steve Yzerman. To me, I'd rather watch college Lacrosse now instead of an NHL game.
I need to look into the team that plays close by. I think it is a farm club (one level down like AAA baseball). I like hockey (and baseball for that matter) better in person. @jackslash... I see you have been to Henry's South!
