I once knew a guy who made a living and raised a family playing poker. He ran a concession stand at a state beach summers and then spent winters traveling between Vegas and Macau. He was an extremely intelligent man and was very inconsistent in his bluffing. He had balls of steel and won far more often than losing. Not unheard of, but an exception to the norm. Through the years I've learned that I'm pretty good at blackjack, but I'll sit down and win $700 in an hour and get up and walk away. The next day, I'll sit and play for an hour and lose a grand. Yes I'm attempting what a small percentage of poker players can achieve but I have read and numerous books and have logged countless hours live and online already and have proven to myself that in the long run I'm a profitable player in Limit games like draw, stud, holdem and Omaha.

Not the limit part of that...it's not no limit

It's also in ring games also know as cash games and not tournaments.

I have paid my dues and have saved a shot load just to stake myself at those limits

Now I need to get their and grind

I've been pursuing blackjack endeavors ever since I started SCing about 2 years ago, but NL poker online or live has always been my first love. I made it out to Vegas for a $1K event in 2013 and 2014 and cashed in 2014. So, if we're still on TUSCL come next summer, maybe we'll merry up and can meet out in Vegas and go SCing too. You can make good money in poker if you have lot of patience. Don't bluff always. Bluff only 20% of the time. 80% of the time play good hands only. I win 70% of the time.But I don't have time to play much poker. GOOD LUCK

If I actually move within the next year or two I will be play the $10/$20 Limit games until my roll is large enough for the $100/$200 game

But either way I project with a high percentage of confidence I will be playing $100/$200 Limit at my longest in the next 4-5 years and at my quickest in 1-2 years

Good luck to you, but man oh man is there a huge difference between playing $4/$8 Limit at Harrah's Cherokee versus $10/20 Limit up to $100/200 Limit in Vegas.

Do you have any experience playing outside NC and in higher stakes games?

Tim I do understand the difference between the talent and game at those stakes. Just harrahs live and online and the highest stakes played and currently winning at is $4-$8 live and $30-$60 online and that's Limit holdem.

I'm getting a lot of couching to prepare for the higher stakes and actually have plans to make a few trips to Vegas, Los Angeles and Jersy to play the high stakes games and to ensure I can win at that level before my actual move

But I'm also OK with grinding a pay check out at the lower levels until I can gain my edge at high limits as well

Vegas and Los Angeles as a lot of action at the middle and high stakes for limit holdem
