Ignore List

You must be talking to yourself a lot...

Maybe rockstar, but it beats wading through hundreds of troll posts every single month, many of which are likely coming from a single individual anyway. :)

@ranukam: Dougster was my first. Not because he was trolling me per se, but because his shit never changes. He has produced a few funny posts over time, but then he recycles them over and over and over and over and over... It's like the dude is somewhere on the autism spectrum, stuck in the same rut over and over. First it was hundreds of posts about shorting treasuries, then literally thousands about "The System", with hundreds (if not thousands) of posts about paying hookers for sex and white polyester suits. It was positively mind-numbingly painful. You'd think that a guy with his kind of free time could come up with some new material, but apparently not, so iggy.

Seems schizophrenic to me to publicize a list of those that you are supposedly ignoring.

JS, I can't see their responses anyway, so it doesn't really matter. I did it to highlight the amount of troll activity I was able to pick out of just 2 solitary threads.

I have nearly all of the same on my list as well, plus about 20 more. But mine was developed over my four years of membership. My list is determined by those who don't regularly talk about strip clubs, strippers, and the industry in general. There have been times when I've reviewed my list to see if any of those members are still active. Those that aren't, I can take off my list. It seems like many of those have just paid for a single month's membership, then rejoined under another name at a later date (perhaps the following month).

I have only put 2 people on ignore in my time on TuSCL. These 2 made nasty comments about me that revealed they were clueless and lacking a sense of humor. One of these people was Alucard. I guess I can take him off ignore now.

I don't care about nonsense threads. I just stop reading them.

I have lost my cool a couple of times with Juice et al and tumbligdice but kept my responses to a minimum.

I'll admit that I did enjoy it a little in the early days. He was posting such dopey shit that I found it hard not to chime in. But then, when he realized that I was giving him the attention that he so desperately craved, he lost what little mind he still had and started flooding the board with continuously regurgitated crap and asinine thread bumps. Even if I had the time to track and respond to all of that, and I don't, what do you do with stuff like that?

I also now believe that my willingness to humor him has been detrimental to the board as a whole, since that screen name and his other aliases have jammed the board with at least 10,000 troll posts just since Jan 2013, easily half of which were focused on me, as absurd as that is. So lesson learned about feeding trolls. Iggy time from now on.

I am a little surprised you had Alucard on ignore. True - he lacked any sense of humor. But he PM'd me often (Sometimes to chastise me) and I think he really was a nice guy. I guess I just accepted him for what he was. I really do think he had Asperger's or some other mental illness though.

I'm curious to see if you'll respond to this given that I'm on your list, but I have to say that think you bring this on! You constantly seem to interact with Dougster! Maybe if you didn't say stuff to get responses from Dougster he'd let go!

Okay, so let's get real for a minute. What finally prompted RickyBoy to act? In recent weeks he has been taking alot of heat from a wide range of sources which basic say that my assessments of him and his "system" are correct. As long as RickyBoy thought it was just me and my "hundreds of multiple" aliases who were saying something, his confirmation bias told him to keep going. Finally though he got boxed into the corner of seeing that I WAS RIGHT all along.

He gave up claims about The System slowly one by one. Tried to deny he said them in the first place. Tried to offer "watered down" claims to me as a compromise, but I would have none of it. So complete victory on The System front.

Finally he still tried to hang onto the notion that my basic assessment was wrong, but finally people who don't even like me started admitting that here again, I WAS RIGHT.

So finally he tried to cling to the notion that nobody here reads what I say because it's all just me bumping threads about him, but even here he says that threads I start are just as popular as anyone else. So no. It wasn't just everyone loving him, and everyone hating me.

Took five years for this to don on him. Will that's a bit of time. But I guess it's an improve over the 10 years the guys spent paying hookers for sex.

This is much better. I don't see posts from the ignored trolls at all or even the threads started by them. I should have done this years ago. I guess that thread bumps from invisible participants come with the turf, but we can't have everything I suppose. Overall it still sucks to have to do this, but it is what it is.
