Watching golf on TV
gawker
Older than dirt
As I'm sitting watching a rain delay in the PGA Championship I'm reminded of the late great George Carlin's quote to the effect that watching golf on TV is like watching two flies fuck. I just tried to call what looks like a beautiful blonde on Backpage but her phone goes right to voicemail which has not been set up and the phone won't take text messages, so I may just break down and go to a strip club. I've already taken the grand kids swimming, cooked lunch, and cleaned up, sent the kids home and sat down with the Boston Globe and the Sunday NY Times, but I want something else today and I might just find it.
Anyone else watching golf or does a strip club sound better?

Why is the Chief Championships Officer of the PGA of America a Brit.
That Kerry Haigh bloke is from England. It's the PGA of AMERICA not the PGA of the UK!
I'm not really a fan of Michelle Wie. (But I guess it's not her fault her controlling parents nearly ruined her).
But she looks mighty fine with those long legs and short skirts or shorts.
Word. There is no greater guy on the planet than Tommy Lasorda. Well, maybe I'm overstating, but I love the guy.
And yes, watching golf is very relaxing. As long as it's on TV. I can't imagine in person trying to run like crazy to get a decent spot at the next hole, then wait 1/2 hour for the players to get there, cameras to get ready, and some guy to hit the ball.
But playing golf is wonderful, especially on a really nice course. Hawaii? Damn, some great golf. It's not only about the game, it's about walking on a beautiful course with great scenery and having fun. And a beer and a hot dog on the 9th hole.
I have heard that the spectators at LPGA tournaments can be more entertaining than the golfers.
Golfer and golf watching fan here, and the PGA yesterday was the best tournament I have watched in years! Rory sucked it up and played perfectly on the back nine. Saying that, the longest day of my life was going to a pro golf tournament. The Masters is a great experience though.
(Long long time Dodger fan from North Carolina. I've been to Dodger Stadium for games twice in my life.)
