Sci fi themed strip club?

Electronman
Too much of a good thing is never enough
I ran across this 2013 article about plans to open Jabbu's Hut, a sci fi themed strip club in Atlanta (http://www.atlbanana.com/science-themed-…). Does anyone know if it ever opened or if other clubs have picked up on this theme?

Some hot women have graced the screen in sci fi movies (e.g, Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia, Sigourney Weaver in Alien, Jeri Ryan in Star Trek Voyager). I'd love to see them (or look alikes) disrobing on stage. I can only imagine lap dance cubicles in the shape of Woody Allen's Orgasmatron from Sleepers-- (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Isrd7E5nz…).

The novelty of the sci fi theme would probably wear off quickly so it would probably work better as a periodic promotion rather than as the daily theme that defines the club.

What do you think--- would you be tempted to visit a sci fi themed strip club??

I'd give it a try if they played Darkside Of The Moon in the VIP.

I have to call foul on this one. Carrie Fisher? Are you serious? On a scale of 1 to HOT I'd give her a 0. I mean, if I saw her on the street would I even look at her? No.

To each his own, but she looks like someone's homely sister to me.

Oh, and the whole SCI-FI themed thing? I'm not feeling it. Maybe I just don't have the imagination, but it seems a bit too much like a dorky star wars convention.

Now I suppose it could be done well, but I just can't imagine what that would be. I really don't need Wookies walking around the strip club when I'm focused on hot wimmenz....

And really the only benefit of a sci-fi theme would be costumes. I mean, the sci-fi music isn't what you'd call sexy...Also Sprach Zarathustra from 2001 A Space Odyssey for chicks to dance to? I don't think so.

How about a comic book or fantasy fiction themed strip club?

I remember on a trip to So-Co in Mount Joy, Iowa (just north of Davenport) years ago that there was a painting of Darth Vader on the wall there. I believe at some point, they remodeled and it's no longer there. That sums up all the sci-fi theme I have ever seen in strip clubs.

    "Barbarella stripping in zero g"

That's EXACTLY what came to my mind. Back when Jane Fonda was someone you wanted to watch on screen, before she became a shrieking, unattractive feminist who thought anyone should care about her political views solely cuz she's Henry Fonda's daughter.

Not sure if I actually jacked off to that back in the day, but I recall at the time it was pretty awesome. And damn she looked hot back then.

A sci-fi themed strip club...that is a seriously coo-el idea. Cool with a capital COO- and a capital -EL.

I have to side with jerikson on the Carrie Fisher issue. But I would not go down to zero on the 1-10 scale. Maybe more of a 5 or 6. Below 5 and you're getting into Klingon terretory. And not sexy Klingons. We're talking Klingons with ridges on their boobs.

But there are plenty o' sci fi hotties. Rachel Nichols from Continuum. Jewel Staite fro Firefly/Stargate Atlantis, Elyse Levesque from Stargate Universe...the list goes on and on. And if you are a bit more inclusive, like comic books and fantasy, the options are endless. I mean...I mean...you could have a blond hottie with super-powered TIT-TAYZ dancing as Power Girl. MOTHAHFUCKING POWER GIRL...the sexiest super heroine in the history of EVER.

And jerikson40 dude...you do what you want, but I'm just going to share a thought or two on your relentless negativity. You wonder why folks are always a dissin' you?

I mean...I mean...who said anything about having chicks dance to Also Sprach Zarathustra? And you do know that Strauss did not write that piece for 2001, n'est-ce pas? In part because he died about 20 years before 2001 was filmed. Though composing from beyond the grave via modified Ouija board *could* be cool. But, to the best of my knowledge, Richard Strauss is not credited with any compositions written via Ouija board (though I bet themed feature the Theramin heavily if there were any).

Just imagine sexy sexy chicks in skimpy space wear a la Star Trek TOS (Green Orion Slave Girls....coo-el) and add in some of the sexier comic book characters. I bet ScarJo's boobs bounce really nice in the upcoming "Lucy" film. A stripper starting out wth that outfit would be coo-el.

Have you no sense of whimsy my man? I expect this BS from folks like DoctorPhil, who seems to have had a negative attitude about EVERYTHING since some dude pissed in his Post Toasties as a child. Don't be DoctorPhil dude.

@ zip: Strauss was dead when 2001 was filmed? Heavens to Betsy - he must have been de-composing. ;D

Maybe in a club like this I could get a periodic table.

I may have discovered the source of Jerkson's unrelenting negativity. His rating of Carrie Fisher as a zero suggests that he has completely unrealistic standards for women, delusional beliefs about his desirability or zero testosterone. He may have not been laid in years. He may need some hormone replacement therapy although I personally prefer moaning whores over hormone replacement.

For the record, I'd give Fisher a solid 7 in her Princess Leia role. I would surely notice her if I passed her on the street, but then I notice and fantasize about lots (not all!) of the women that I meet (and I'm old, as in 60). I would surely say "yes" if Fisher offered a strip tease, lap dance or insisted on seducing me. Nice fantasy?? -- no wonder I like sci fi themes.

2001 Odyssey in Tampa FL. The VIP room is a flying saucer on top of the building that has like 6 to 8 rooms with a curtain. When you are walking up the stairs to the UFO you are walking up a halfway and staircase with stars and space them all over the walls and carpet.

Although I liked Jeri Ryan's Seven of Nine character, I won't comment on the likelihood of dressing the recovered Borg in a silver catsuit and spike heels that would break a stripper's ankles (wait! I think I just did.) But along with every male in America I liked it.

However, for my money, Jolene Blalock's T'Pol character in Star Trek Enterprise was considerably hotter.

    If they looked like this
    http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6bmfpL-3wkc/Tp…

or had short skirts like Wilma in Buck Rogers or like the sexy girl in a show called Lexx I think it was, I could like it.
Music would need to be rock or heavy metal.

And what is it about some people that they can't handle anything that's not happy and fun and whimsical? Geez, you guys curl up in a fetal position and rock back and forth whenever someone disagrees or says something negative.

Did you have childhoods with zero happiness, and it has made you so sensitive to negativity that you can't handle it? You can't handle a rational, reasonable discussion where someone might have an opposing view? Really?

I will admit that I smiled at the thought of some stripper disrobing or faking an orgasm to the sounds of Also Sprach Zarathustra.

My only point was that, to me at least, and I'm sure to many others, sci-fi isn't normally something I associate with sexy. Which is what most of us want in a strip club. Sexy.

So if I were to design the theme for a strip club, I'd choose something that is easier to make sexy. I'm not trying to be negative, I just have a particular opinion, that I think is fairly reasonable. The stuff associated with just about every sci-fi movie you've ever seen are things like weird characters from an other planet, cool weapons, spaceships, and stuff like that. Is it sexy? Well, I suppose a hot chick in a hot outfit can make anything sexy, but I'd prefer a theme around the girls themselves.

For example, my themes would be stuff like having a schoolgirl day, where the girls dress in the hottest schoolgirl outfits. Chosen by me, of course...and of course the girls would act the part, etc.

You could go nuts with shit like that...nurses, secretaries, glamour girls who dress up in incredibly sexy gowns....

Or maybe a sluts day, where chicks try to be as slutty as possible :)

I also like the themes in clubs like Mitchell Bros O'Farrell in San Francisco. They've got a porn movie theater where you get lap dances while watching porn, and a bunch of different cool ideas. The place is way too overpriced, but it's got some great ideas.

Anyway, personally I get kind of tired of the same old strip clubs...chicks in standard bikinis wandering around and dancing on stage to the same old music. I'd love to have something different....outfits, themes, etc.

"For the record, I'd give Fisher a solid 7 in her Princess Leia role."

Wow, I couldn't disagree more. Sorry, dude.

She came across to me as a terrible actress, with a constant sour, deadpan expression, no interesting character whatsoever, and she looked so freakin' uncomfortable in the scenes where she's wearing that revealing outfit. I just consider her VERY average looking, and I could never understand how she got cast for that part. She must have known someone. The list of interesting, beautiful women who could have done so much better in that role is, to me, a mile long.

Hell, just look thru some of the old fotos of her in that role. Geez, cold and uninteresting.

One of my local strip clubs has the dancers and waitresses dress up in different outfits for different occassions. One type is called a hoe down and they wear shorts and daisy dukes. A couple of the waitresses looked hotter than most of the dancers the first time they did it. They also had one dollar beer in original cans. They cut out the one dollar beer. They had some country music which made it a whole lot less pleasant for me.

The club had other themes on other nights. They might be doing a bikini theme this weekend. I haven't seen the waitresses in bikinis. A couple could keep their clothes on. The different themes don't really interest e very much as far as dancers go. I like to see less clothes if they are hot, not more. The exception has been two hot waitresses or three I've seen in the past several months. I might order more beer in certain cases. :)

A hot young girl in a short cheerleader outfit almost always gets my attention. Back when I was in High School, we had a strict dress code where students could not wear shorts above the knee. School uniforms were excluded but there were none except for sports or school activities. In one class, a cheerleader I knew always sat right across from me several times in her outfit. That was nice. :)

@Sharkhunter-You need to get your ass to San Diego for Comic-Con. It's been going on this week and all the hotties in sci-fi and comic character outfits one man can handle.
