Will there be enough members for this site to survive? It seems in the last year many of the long time and (God help me for saying this but) respected members vanished.
Great question and post topic Elmer ! It would be nice to browse these discussions without all the posts by those with the mind of a 12-14year old poorly parented boy!
The article spam (not in English, plugs escorts in foreign city, web sales systems ad nauseum clogs up the que so that members who do submit legitimate articles are delayed for approval, or worse yet get accidentally rejected in the maze.
The trolls just make me avoid discussions and focus on what actually matters: reviews.
Most trolls here have one thing in common: they don’t write reviews or adjudicate. Just run their mouths like being the village idiot was their full time job.
I know we’re all pathetic losers here, but if you’re so pathetic you hang out on a STRIP CLUB REVIEW site and don’t write any reviews… you shouldn’t even have the privilege of posting on a discussion board anyway.
I strongly second what PAWG_Patrol wrote. By limiting participation discussion to VIP members, or at least post creation, this site will become so much more usable. There will be no more weeding through junk articles, discussions, and reviews.
Tuscl needs to cull the herd. Keep the bozos, incels, and cheapskate as second class citizens. Pay to play (or at least get a review through the approval process).
We dont need censorship. There was the option of a vip only forum. No one posted. The idiots chose to troll with right wing extremism and harass people in the main room.
Implement full two way block. When I have a user blocked, they should not see my posts comments or reviews. They should not be able to adjudicate my reviews. They should not be able to @mention me or comment on my content.
Implement and ENFORCE some baseline rules for conduct on the site. This could be a really low bar. On r/stripclubs, the simple rule "Don't be an Ass" seems to be sufficient. There should be certain things things that get you banned: Doxxing another user or a dancer, threatening the life of a user or dancer, repeated harassment of a user, explicitly racist content. These are things that would get you banned on just about any other platform. Bans don't even need to be permanent. Just giving someone who is behaving badly a 2-3 day timeout with the implied threat of a permaban if the behavior does not change does wonders to change overall behavior.
Consider adding a moderator or three to help. Obviously this is a tough ask for just one person.
Give users the ability to block Political Discussion. Right now, if I want to check in on discussions here I'm forced to wade through the obnoxious politics. It would be nice to opt out of that so I don't get sucked in. I'd even ask - is that board adding value to the user experience? Most other mongering boards outright ban political discussion that is not relevant to the hobby.
Censorship or someone who will just abuse being a moderator isnt the answer . 2 way blocking would clean the site up a lot. Getting rid of chunkychicano rickymacrodongs alt accounts would help a lot. Some melatonin for 25.
Replace Political Discussion with a Smash or Pass forum.
Make front room VIP only. So if you wanted to act like a moron, you’d either have to pay for the privilege to do so or be an active reviewer. Regular users could still post club discussions to answer actual SC questions.
@gSteph’s idea of a monthly discussion limit would prevent trolls from flooding the front room with absolute idiocy on a daily basis.
eliminate the politics forum and it will be in the front room
@ronjax2 : click "discussions" -> click "forums" -> select either TJ mongers or Front Room. This solution has been around since before the last update.
Eliminate the club specific discussions from the landing page. Move them to the club page. It looks like usasexguide with all the incels asking if Angel puts out in VIP
Agree with a limit on the number of discussions one user can begin in a month.
Only VIPs can start a discussion
No moderators. There is literally no one on this site who is non-partisan and even tempered. The only instance in which I would want a moderator to exercise any oversight is when 25, pudy tat, skibum, or icey gets into one of their endless idiotic tit-for-tat, gotcha last thread derailments. Fuck, maybe even lock a thread after 100 comments.
I actually "enjoy" clicking into the bullshit people anonymously post ( yeah, I contribute to it to).....I get a little view of how someone who doesn't see it the same way as me thinks.
I'd like to see the timestamp and author on the most recent post in the discussion list.
To shadows point, adding a last seen date and a quick unmute button would make that page a lot more useful.
I don't care about two way block, I have some people on mute but I mostly just use scroll to ignore. Though I do fuck up and engage with the trolls now and again.
I'd also prefer the default discussion view to the front room, with adding the Political, TJ, and club specific threads an extra click away. Bonus points if it was user configurable or remembered the setting for the logged in user.
I'm not pro-moderator, my limited viewing experience suggests Subra's doing a good job but there's no one here I'd trust to be the moderator.
I'd support limits to new threads, limits on number of total number of posts, non-VIP being read only, or any similar solutions.
Maybe adjudication of new threads might be an option? Do it just like reviews, show the content but not the poster. Maybe reduce the votes required to 3 of 5 instead of 4 of 7? Maybe put a time limit to auto-approve anything that doesn't get enough votes after a few hours.
Or put thumbs up/down on the thread itself, and anyone with more thumbs down than up on their threads over the past 7 days can't start any new ones. That feels ripe for pettiness, but maybe you could also limit the # of thumbs down a user can give to mitigate?
Or thumbs on threads and set the default view to hide anything with a net of -2 thumbs or something. Maybe a user-defined threshold.
Even without any “official” changes, some behaviors would be greatly reduced if people stopped encouraging more of those behaviors. Some people are going to keep posting certain things as long as they can get a response out of others. On another forum, I once watched a guy continually troll and annoy seemingly everyone else there. As for me, though, I just truly ignored him. He wanted to irritate me also, but I wasn’t having any of it, so he eventually gave up. It’s hard for someone to get into your head if you just won’t let them…

Some well-regarded users have faded away or otherwise moved on, like papi and js69. Some have sadly passed away, like juice.
There is also a general thinning of the boomers and Gen X on this site as millenials users have plateaued and zoomers and the next generation increase in usage.
Anthropologists suggest that millennials and zoomers have less discretionary cash for high cost entertainment like strip clubs, less interest in going out for entertainment (v streaming and gaming), and less interest in mixing g with members of the opposite sex.
