Okay. So I have given my San Diego post some more thought. I am currently interviewing with a company near Orlando, Florida.
I have 3 places I actually want to move to. San Diego, Miami, or Dallas. So if any of you have work contacts it would be appreciated. As a reminder I am an electrical engineer in the defense industry. I primarily work in components and quality assurance.
Nobody has asked, but I'm okay with sending my resume. Thanks again.

Whoops. I forgot about Atlanta. That was actually my first choice when looking for out of state locations.
I don’t think there’s a lot of opportunities for defense industry jobs, but the tech industry is growing in Florida my guess would be you might be able to find a good company that needs electrical engineers, in other industries, I’d suggest looking into medical equipment or other technology intensive industries if you’re interested in Florida, that might be one way to find what you’re qualified for.
thanks. I never thought about medical equipment. It may pay less but at this point I'll try anything.
Orlando would meet shadowcat's requisite for living there, and clubbing 1-2 hours away. Still, property in Florida is more expensive than in GA, TX or NV. I listed those states specifically because there is a concentration of defense industry contractors in them.
Hmmm Dallas doesn't come up much as a naughty women hub. I mean, unless nicespice moved there to be close to an HEB.
Orlando, eh? Regardless of company/industry, suggest speaking with current company employees about company culture. If you find out that there's too many mickey mouse rules/policies, run, don't walk away.
Tennessee has plenty of defense lndustry and you might want to check across the line in Alabama
@minnow I have family members that work for the mouse most of the rules you’re objecting to only apply to lower paid visitor facing cast members, not to the upper tier of employees, engineers wouldn’t be included in the group your talking about.
if you are a white, heterosexual male with no need to announce your pronouns, you will not be welcomed by woke Disney. This is fact, not a partisan attack against a company with egregious civil right violations against white, hetero males. Just a heads up.
