Different type of Club/bar in Los Angeles..what's it called??

I've been thinking about this for a few days now, but just can't seem to put my finger on the type of club that it is. Let me describe it for you: It's a bar/restaurant where there are women who 'hang out' with you. They sit at your table, or next to you at the bar, dance with you, dance for you, etc. I know it's not an escort club or a strip club, but it's along the same lines. I know someone out there has the right answer, please let me know.

Another TUSCL member asked a similar question recently. It was about "taxi dancers," which is a 1920's term for the "hostesses" at modern day "hostess clubs." Personally, I'm not acquainted with hostess clubs, or hostess bars. If you're from L.A. (I was until 2006. I moved to Seattle then.), then you may be acquainted with www.zbone.com It's a website like TUSCL, but limited to Southern California strip clubs. It also covers, the scant few, hostess clubs remaining. If you have any difficulty navigating zbone, feel free to PM me. Also, if you do find an actual hostess bar or restuarant in L.A. (or elsewhere), I'd really like to know. When I lived in L.A., I had no idea of hostess bars/restaurants.

The term that came to my mind was "clip joint," but what the hell do I know?

Hostess clubs are pretty popular in downtown LA, and cater to a largely latino clientele. Many of the girls speak only espanol. There is one near the airport that I have always been curious about, but I've heard mixed reviews about them so I've stayed away.

Common in the cuban areas of South Florida. Being a gringo, no need for me to venture inside one.

Used to be a place something like that in Toledo many moons ago. If my memory serves - it was called "The Jolly Trolley". When there a few times. Pretty tame compared to what is available in Strip Clubs today.

But I do wonder if this is a place you can meet girls who may be up for some action OTC (at least on a selective basis)...

vm,

There are times I do certainly wish I did speak spanish. I am quite sure you remember one such time with "G". They say she still works at Stir, but I've not seen her again. Could be they (bouncers) say that so I'll keep coming, but her not being there would not stop me.

Well, I didn't see "G" when I stopped in Wednesday afternoon, Clubber. It would have been nice. :)

I was able to stop in for a couple today, Saturday. Only one dancer I had seen before. The other 3, new to me. I was surprised that "C" wasn't there. She has told me many times she only works Friday-Sunday.
