Keep it in my pants when I do OTC. If I were a stripper it would stand for I like big bucks and I can not lie.

"she might still be on rotary phone" -- she might be dialing for dollars at the Clermont Lounge, Atlanta's home for aging strippers.

Old School Vibes + VIP Not Worth It
I've never gotten "weird treatment for being white" at Blaze either. But on my most recent visit, a young dancer me quoted $500 for VIP. She most have noticed my surprise because she added, "I'm worth it." Maybe you are, girl. I'm not.

Was I Jinxed? + Don't Stop The Money
Toppers in Athens has that same required rotation onstage, even when the club is nearly empty, and I agree with you -- it doesn't make sense. Plus the dancers are required to work the poles at both ends of the stage. Guys will be sitting at one end, tipping the dancer, and then she's required to walk off to the empty seats at the other end of the stage and perform for nobody.

tumbleweeds in darkness
I used to go when it was the 24K. Had no idea of its history. Thank you for this, very interesting! I've heard of the Sweet Gum Head drag club, but didn't know it was in the same building, or that it was once owned by James Brown. In the 24K days, a small club for gay men occupied part of the building. I think it was called Opus. It seemed odd to have a straight men's club next door to a gay men's club, but that's Atlanta.

Trump Turns Self In To Atlanta Strip Club
Shadowcat, did you see the (real) news that Trump hired Steve Sadow as his lead Georgia attorney today? Two decades ago, Sadow represented the Gold Club's owner in the RICO case that shut down ATL's most successful strip club.

Songs we'd like to hear.....
Last weekend a DJ played "Cherry Bomb" by the Runaways (from 1976), and it really went over well. The dancer seemed to enjoy it. Maybe she had seen the movie. Pretty sure I've heard "Legs" and "You Shook Me All Night Long" at strip clubs. Would love to hear Motorhead!

Unique Strip Club Enviornments
Great list! Definitely add Mary's in Portland (from the first comment). At Beansnapper's (a juice bar near Appleton WI), the strippers enter the stage by sliding down the pole from a room above. Like a firehouse, or the Batcave. Re. Clermont Lounge - you may have tried to visit while they were renovating the hotel above the club. The renovators pretty much left the club alone to "preserve the ambience". Some nights had live (local) bands instead of strippers. As many reviewers have said, it's a must visit at least once. A lot of TV shows and movies are shot in GA these days, so there's the occasional celebrity sighting.

Penis pad locks. Do you need one?
Patient in the ER where I worked had lost the key to his cock ring and needed it cut off. Interesting that the guy in the Daily Star story went to a tattoo parlor (after 3 months of being locked up!) Evidently he HAD tried soap and water, since the lock was rusted.

Fulton Industrial Atlanta shut down the stroll?
Streetwalkers forum at usasexguide says that Wendell St. (off Fulton Industrial) is still active, but not like FIB once was. On Myrtle St in Midtown you might pick up a TS, or try The Bluff if taking a risk is part of the thrill.

Songs we'd like to hear.....
I wonder how well a club would do if it promoted an occasional "grown folks night" with music from the 50's, 60's and 70's? We might want to hear good music, but can strippers dance to it? "At Last" and "American Pie" are classics, but...

A respite for post-college guys in a college town.
I'd call it accurate based on my visits. What kind of club ad says "It isn't the best or the wildest" or that the dancers are "hit or miss" (and a few of them old)? The extra price for a wristband is annoying, but you won't get any contact dances unless you buy it. There are couches in the VIP room (not just booths). It's not private, but it's dark and spacious, and they limit the number of customers in there. This "ad" doesn't even mention the Executive rooms, which would be called VIP in Atlanta or any other city. That's the real ripoff at Toppers.

The Square Above Charlie Weaver
Underage
The deceased player (Devin Willock) wasn't driving. Jalen Carter (the surviving player) was racing UGA recruiting staffer Chandler LeCroy (the other fatality). LeCroy was intoxicated at the time of her death, and Willock was one of her passengers. Jalen Carter left the scene, and later pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor. Two lawsuits have been filed, one by Willock's father (against the UGA Athletic Association, Jalen Carter and Toppers). The other suit was filed by LeCroy's surviving passenger. She is suing LeCroy's estate, Jalen Carter, and the UGA Athletic Association -- but not Toppers. UGA claims "the proximate cause of the crash was street racing and extreme speed," not LeCroy's drinking (as boomer79 wrote).

some things never change
Nice to know it hasn't changed! Haven't been to Appleton in a few years. Watching dancers slide down the pole to the stage is a fun feature. IIRC the table dances (I won't call them lap dances, since there's no contact) was the only way to talk to a dancer. If you pay for a few and tip her onstage, she might chat with you a little longer.

Good time at Goldrush
Ten. Sorry I forgot to mention that. Didn't buy any drinks, partly because I couldn't get near either of the bars. One guy near me was paying a dancer for song after song, and she actually brought him a beer from the bar at one point. Maybe that's the way to do it.
