How To vs In Depth

I'd live this way again
I don't like how to articles or even discussion posts, even the good ones. Most of the guys here and dancers here have been at it for a long time and don't need to be told how to. I think I write in depth stuff about things we already know to note changes, trends, and the like. I look at Tuscl like a consumer report site and I think treating it that way makes it the most valuable for me to use. Is how to vs in depth a distinction without a difference?

Do what you want. Most articles are loathsome tedious reads

@Icey can't argue that.

The articles are almost all bad, just written to get free VIP. The good ones are too hard to find. Too bad there isn't a Top 40 most bookmarked articles, that would probably contain all the worthwhile ones.

The discussions are only good for shitposting, but that's the norm for online forums.

The reviews are what is indispensible here.

The best articles are the ones that cover a single geographic area in depth.

+1 to the previous posters. Most of them are shit--I don't even review them. Often in Vietnamese.

There is a ton of spam in the article area. I don’t think there’s a thing we can do about that. I think half the articles are trash. I’m actually probably more optimistic than most of the guys on here about it.

You dont need an article to cover a geographical area in debt. Someone can do that with reviews

I very rarely read any articles. They have no value to me.

The problem I have with the "how to" articles is there's no assurance the author knows how. In fact, as someone who does know how, I would go as far as to say in numerous cases the "how to" advice offered is outright wrong.

"How-to" articles are ubiquitous components of high-school and college communication courses. Every semester with every instructor had a how-to component. I was once even required to create a how-to webpage in German for one college course.

I agree that how-to articles are the worst and most lazy way to submit an article for extended VIP access. They are also very easily generated through any AI chatbot for the same purposes. I do not check the Articles tab because there is so much garbage and spam, and I do not check the unpublished articles tab because it seems to be only spam every time I look. If it were up to me, Founder can leave the review adjudication to the VIP members, but he should review and publish the articles himself to ensure that only those which add value to the site are published.

@gammanu95 Fact is a lot of the articles I see are kind of like lazy essays I woulda scraped together in school.

This was also a very good article that made me think about showing more appreciation for the people who work "offstage" at clubs: https://tuscl.net/article/60151
