Strip clubs of days gone by...
Cabaret Club in El Paso, Texas- One of the all time bargain bin strip clubs. Club was so dark all you see when you walk in was the light from the bathroom in the back, it took 5 to 10 minutes for your eyes to adjust. This is when the ugly door vultures would strike while you were vision impaired with some record low prices $30, $40 for everything. Look it wasn't my scene but we all know it was your scene you filthy, sick, perverted bastard.
Mitchell Bros. O'Farrell Theater in San Francisco- Opened in 1969. Hunter S. Thompson called it "the Carnegie Hall of public sex in America" and Playboy called it "the place to go in San Francisco!" When you went here you were visiting a strip club museum, a place full of history and one of the great stops of all time at one point. All kinds of carnival style rooms, theater in the back with all sorts of stuff going on. I caught at the end when it was filled with aggressive, annoying over the hill cunts but the good news was, is that it was the same stuff going on from the homeless just outside, so no loss.
Strip Clubs today....
The Lodge in Dallas- You know one of those museum of natural history style dioramas? With the cavemen and sabretooth tigers and the fake trees. Yeah that's the stage at this hunting lodge style place. Nice club, top women, but expensive. Either way maybe the most high flying club you will find in Texas.
Ocean Gentlemen's club in Chicago- I believe I recall being told it was the most expenisive strip club ever built at the time it was. By walking in here it's believable. Incredible place. With a moat. A FUCKING MOAT! That you and strippers can go in. Say less.
Hip Hugger in Kokomo, Indiana- Midwest is one of the last places left in America where you still can find old America. And this place is really a trip back in time. Basically untouched for decades. Unchanged. Owners been there forever. Jukebox strippers feed to play their music. Old dark wood paneling. VFW style chairs. American Flag proudly displayed. Walking in this club today is the same as walking in this club on some random night in the 1980's.
Paradise Found in Syracuse, New York- Rainforest Cafe theme going on in here. The manager enters the lap dance area through one of those face carving on the tree things. I don't know that's called but you know I mean. Some may say cheesey, I say it's a good change of pace and I like it. Hell I never got to go to a strip club in a Jungle before and yeah I'm down to get dances from some chick under a bunch of fake bamboo and plastic trees.
Penn's Porthole Pub in Philadelphia- Of all the Go Go Bar's in the northeast, this one just feels like OG of them all. This small bar in South Philly has been around since the 60's, converted to a strip club and one of the oldest in America. Bartender looks like he's been working there for all it's years. No dances just cheap drinks and naked girls stepping over your beer.
Shotgun Willies in Glendale, Colorado- Walking in this strip club, feels like something out of a movie. Or at least out of a Vegas styles casino. A bunch of stages all around, that people sit around as though they're at a blackjack tables just instead full of naked women dancing. Really energetic place and must hit for any monger in Denver if only just once.
Crazy Horse in San Francisco- Just picture an old school 70's movie theater and they converted into a strip club. No other place quite like it. After your done taking the ambience, take in the extras on the booths to the left where I'm sure vending machines and popcorn guy used to be. Although it should be noted, one of the worst homeless situations you will see in the area of this strip club. So if you can get in without getting stuck with a syringe, I'd say that's win/win.
Bare Elegance LAX in Hawthorne, California- It's not so much what's going on with the building physically or anything like that, but it's what they do with the girls. When you see a bunch of model level angels parading around butt naked throughout this club, it's just a sight you'd never forget. From what I understand they stopped that for COVID hopefully that will resume at some point it was fucking awesome. Heaven is quite literally under a freeway.
Bourbon Street in Phoenix- No club that I've seen makes it's girls look sexier. Very dark club with this red led light as the only light. Sort of looks like something out of a movie. So to the interior designer, I say in the gayest voice possible "FABULOUS" Also the free popcorn is great for looking like a fucking asshole with shit in your teeth while talking to naked women.
Atlantis in Chicago- Another Chicagoland PALACE. An ancient Greek style palace. Talking about going all out on the building. How much marble do you want? Yes.
Master's Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina- Theme here, laser tag in the 1990's. That's just what comes to mind with the bright green, purple, strobe lights. I dig the vibe here.
The Lumberyard in Des Moines, Iowa- Do you like lumber? Do you like chopping wood? Are you Paul Bunyan? Do you get wood if your around wood? If you said yes to any of those and also like strippers, this place might be a must hit. They also have a model plane.
Odessey 2001- The space ship on top is the VIP? That a lone gives it a spot on this list. I've always dreamed of fucking a girl from planet Xenon.
Black Betty's Saloon in South Amboy, NJ- Punk Rock Go Go Bar. No hip hop, just rock and roll. Old school CBGB type vibe.
On my list for the future...
High Rollers Club in Neoga, Illinois- It's a strip club in the basement of an abandoned school. That sounds cool, it's on my list but I'm not often passing through the middle of nowhere Illinois.
Cleremont Lounge in Atlanta- Last time I was down in the A-T-L it was closed. It's not that I really even want to go, it's I guess it's somewhere you just have to go, even just once.
That's what stands out to me. Would love to here if y'alls out there.

I am old enough to remember Mitchell Brothers, definitely a shrine among strip clubs.
Re. Clermont Lounge - you may have tried to visit while they were renovating the hotel above the club. The renovators pretty much left the club alone to "preserve the ambience". Some nights had live (local) bands instead of strippers. As many reviewers have said, it's a must visit at least once. A lot of TV shows and movies are shot in GA these days, so there's the occasional celebrity sighting.
So I switched to Crazy Horse on Market Street and enjoyed the entertainment there for years and never had a problem with the neighborhood. Part of its appeal was its independent ownership and operation. Unfortunately Covid brought about the purchase by Deja Vu. Most of the regulars I'd had fun with for years never came back and my visits were not the same. I don't patronize any of the San Francisco clubs now, preferring to drive to Rancho Cordova for Gold Club.
