Background:

Originally James Brown's nightclub until 1971, then a drag bar until 1981 called the Sweet Gum Head. Many strip club incarnations after that starting with 24K, 24K Gold Club, Bliss, and finally Allure.

This location has constantly been targeted by the neighborhood association and the city of Atlanta police department. Once with twelve police cars to raid the club for a 6-month undercover operation that yielded a bag of weed, a small baggy of coke, and about 5 to 10 girls without permits.

The strip club has gone from straight white, to gay men, to straight black, and now mixed.
