I do agree with most of everyone's sentiments on NinaBambina. I do find her insight and contributions worthy of being read

I think my response was reasonable, NinaBambina, yet you took it to whole different direction. It screams the "i" word. I have not and will not patronize any of the people on this board. I look forward to you marrying a multimillionaire. Please do not forget about us

Unless it's your dream career, it's more difficult to find good pay as a lawyer these days. You're essentially paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for a dating service (i.e law school). I'll also note that some paralegals make more money than some lawyers.
I agree that we have some of those "lame guys" around here but again to be fair-- if you've been talking about going to school for years around here and still haven't enrolled yourself, then I don't know what to tell you. I'm assuming you're by no means a young dancer and somewhere in the late 20s-early 30s.
I don't know why you have to put any stock in what some other user has to say about you. It's not like he/she is someone you know personally or anything. I do not regret reading about one's academic plans around here as long as it is genuine. I do find it interesting to read about

I've seen tons of retail positions where employees are on their phones for personal use. It really depends on where you're working

It's also plausible that perhaps they are "recharging" their battery, so to speak. I really can't see how some of these dancers make any money. They're paying house fees to sit around most of the time. These dancers are usually around a high 6 to low 7 (meaning they're by no means ugly but definitely not one of the more attractive dancers in the building). They're better off finding a retail job or being a waitress

I picked up on my first day how dancers, at least from my experience, look at what is being tipped at the stage. They'll actually take a second to look down and count the cash. I think it's incredibly rude when they suggest you need to tip more than what you tipped. This is rare for me but I am sure it is the norm for other patrons

To be fair to whoever said that, I wouldn't want legal advice from anyone that has not passed the bar exam. Perhaps strike a casual conversation on the law but nothing more than that. I do see your value and what you bring to the table but I'll just leave it at that. I think to patronize you would be a disservice as I'm not the patronizing type

I agree with the notion that it's better to walk away then just sit there and not tip. I do not agree with the notion that dancers have thick skin. I guess it depends on where you go but from my experience, a lot of them seem insecure and easily offended

It would be a lot more convenient if we received notifications to discussions that we've left a comment on

You are also letting the dancer know that she isn't worthy of being tipped. His/her value in terms of dancing comes from how much money he/she is making. When you take that approach, you can see why this wouldn't be considered rude

I agree that you should tip for what you want to tip. It just so happens that sitting up by the stage means you pretty much have to tip every dancer. Only thing that solves this is by getting up and walking away.
I can say I may have done this a couple times but then again, I rarely sit by the stage. I usually just look elsewhere if I am uninterested in the stage set but do not get up from my seat to completely avoid tipping. I would say it is rude to some degree

I usually assume that they're waiting for a regular or a whale. I don't think I have a problem with a dancer sitting around when there are little to no patrons in the establishment. I've never stroked up a conversation with a dancer that was sitting with her phone out, however. You can best be sure that these are the same kind of people that would be on their phone all day working a retail job

I agree with the notion that perhaps the volume on a website such as TUSCL is not enough to grab the attention of the average owner/manager. Most of the reviews are by experienced mongers who have an idea of what the average SC should be like. An owner/manager probably focuses on first-time patrons

It has a lot to do with convenience (i.e experienced monger) and/or not knowing what's out there (i.e locals). For me, I would want the SC to at least be above decent and under 45 minutes to get to. You can do fine with those decent SCs as long as there's that one or two dancers that you think is a "unicorn." I think any more than 4-5 SCs in a PL's regular rotation is too high

There is a study that shows that the more attractive one is, the more advantages they have over their competition. I am sure this applies to dancers, too. Some dancers don't have to work as hard as their less attractive peers and make similar or more money. You can't just skate by with pure talent (in this case looks)

I think a lot of these owners/managers are stuck in the old ways where the internet wasn't a thing. A lot of business owners that do well read reviews all over the internet and even reply to customers trying to get them to improve a 3/5 star review to a 5/5 star. They take them seriously.
Probably a ton are burned out and are just going through the motions. I am sure there are a lot who are also incompetent in running a business

Perhaps I'm more of a "gentleman" with this but I'll usually say that I'm just looking at the stage to see if there's anyone that piques my interest. I rarely have a dancer just stand around after that. A good way to get rid of a clinger is to excuse yourself to go to the bar or bathroom. I don't think many dancers have the patience to sit around while you're gone for a couple minutes

LeBron has actually gotten better and is 33. He might not even start declining until he hit his mid-late 30s. You usually see drop-offs once players hit 30
