Wondering if this place is owned by the Paper Moon folks with the identical / unusual prices here. Your mentioning the ex-PM bartender and “folk” (girls too?) leads me to believe that’s the case. Given PM and their hot gals syphoned a lot of $$$ from me once last year (admittedly with three extremely hot girls and a bottle of mediocre champagne), I would be somewhat guarded about any place where even moderate fun starts at $150. Much as I want to try this place.

10 min for $150 is exactly what Paper Moon in Springfield VA charges for a topless (pasties, actually) lap dance. Hot girls, expensive dances, cover charge. While it’s nice to find (full?) contact laps in DC, I’m curious if the Cloak and PM have the same owner. I’ll have to try this place at some point. If it compares to the Baltimore of 4-5 years ago (or even 3 years ago), I’d say kudos.

I think you had the same insanely gorgeous but not-overly-friendly Asian-Caucasian I met a couple weeks ago. She is probably from one of the “Stans” where they look Asian but speak Russian. If I see her again and she decides to be friendlier I might ask her.

Accurate review in that there are some hot girls - but some will try to take advantage and ask for a tip even after the $160 for 4 dances, which in itself is steep but OK if you get a girl who can game the rules effectively.

I think I meant “1 hour” room, not “1 minute” room. Hopefully no one at Millstream got any bright ideas for charging $10 for tip walks.

Your room prices do not include what goes to the girl. For 15 minutes, the total damages are $180 (half for the room, half to the girl, not including a tip for “sexiness”). There are also lots of different and costly options for 30 minute and 1 minute rooms. Generally the house and the girl each split the total for the base 15 min booth or 30 min cabana, but if you get the fancier rooms that have doors on them the prices start to climb. The lap dances on the sofa are 1-way and are ridiculously priced considering the girls wear pasties. YMMV. You can have a good time in a 15-min booth if you get a good/great girl (as I did last time), but the quality of the talent has gotten more inconsistent over time.

I noticed zero cameras in those rooms when I was there. In other parts of the US you will see them without effort in just about every private room, and often the guy in the TV booth watching. Nothing I saw at DDs. Looking forward to my second visit in a couple weeks.

I agree on the hot girls, though there are some ROB types, usually Asian/Filipino. I think the dollar value ranking is way too high. $8 cover during the day and $8 beer before you even see a girl during the day, and then $15 a minute for topless laps make this a non-starter, despite this being really the only true lap dance place in Northern Virginia.

I think BAL still cruises on the rep of the Block (as it was in the 70s and 80s) when in reality much of the Block is a clusterfuck (and not in a good way). The other clubs are charging what the market bears. To be honest I can’t figure for the life of me why, given the relative lack of demand, the prices continue to be set so high for dances, rooms, or “other”. Few seem to be partaking of them (maybe late at night when everyone’s drunk it’s another story).

A handful of Baltimore clubs offer decent 2-way laps for $30 or less. I think Player’s Club is more. Goddess offers topless (but you have to buy $20 dancer drinks if you’re talking to them at all in the club), Gentleman’s Gold Club offers them with tops on, and Wednesday is half-price. Fantasy’s and Millstream are the kings of the one-way dances, and the Mill laps (which no one does anymore) are said to be dangerously close to air dances. If you want less costly 15-min and 20-min dances, head to Martinsburg, West Virginia and go to Lust. (if you don’t mind getting your license scanned)

In the mid-Atlantic, Sundays/Mondays seem to skew older - a lot older. Mid and late week you still get the younger talent....but the tattoo / pierced face/boobs/clit stuff is getting more and more extreme. And the lack of basic social skills/cellphone issue is a thing at many clubs that don’t police it.......to the point where it ruins the experience completely. I will tell you many of my better dances come from early 30-something dancers who know what they’re doing and still have social skills. But SA is a thing. One of my ATFs was always looking for sugar daddies to support camgirl equipment, massage chairs so she could open a legit business, etc. Now she drives for one of those Uberlyft companies and dog-walks through one of those nationally franchised Rover/Spot apps as well. The gig economy does help pay a few bills and doesn’t require costumes, platform stiletto heels, or bearing boobiage to people you end up knowing around town.

I’ll just say that I started spending more time in strip clubs in the mid-90s both local and while traveling (especially to SFO) when I was having difficulties in my marriage (wife had eating disorder and various psychological issues). These were the early days of lap dances, and the Orange County /COI clubs had some model-quality girls. You just don’t see many girls like them in clubs today. Mr J’s in Santa Ana pretty much was air dance city but there were some exceptions and they were spectacular. Of course the place closed down in the wake of murder and drugs and other local intrigue involving owners, managers, strippers, boyfriends, etc. In the 2000s I began traveling internationally to places like Dubai and Germany. Between the Dubai hotel bars (Russian/former Soviet Union, Chinese, African, Turkish girls) and the German FKK club’s, I probably had about 45 different girls (some multiple times), all with condoms (but BBBJs were common). My jaundiced view of sex is this. I’ve never had sex I didn’t have to pay for. Then I lived in Dubai full time for a couple years with family and the fun pretty much laid low, and then I returned to the mid-Atlantic. Still difficulties in my marriage, so strip clubs are still an outlet. So bottom line, strip clubs are largely a step down for me compared to my past experiences unless the women are exceptional and you can get the right kind of service. There were at least two girls from the Baltimore scene who became ATFs (one with occasional OTC). I can’t think of any girl in the clubs today that I would consider to have that kind of potential. Legalizing prostitution/escorts would go a long way toward helping a lot of guys with girl/sexual/ intimacy issues. I think all the current culture is doing is isolating men more than ever.

Just FYI, Penthouse Club is what used to be called Scores. I’m about the only area SCer who has never been there, mainly because I don’t have a crappy car to park in the lot across the street that I don’t care about getting vandalized. The Hustler Club is pretty dire now (laps aren’t even topless, VIP rooms are ridiculously expensive). The rest of the Block is just sad. Millstream used to have a few awesome (both hot and friendly) girls but that was a few years ago. It is effectively a restaurant and bar with strippers (wearing pasties and tattoos), VIP rooms are expensive there but it’s the only way you get two-way touching other than the “tip walk” (which by the way, is a thing at several clubs in Baltimore, where they collect dirhams from everyone sitting both at the tables and the bar). Gold Club can be fun with the right dancers, but they seem to be dead until late. They have a great pit BBQ nearby called Chaps, which literally sits in front of the GGC parking lot. I thought I would like Ritz when I went there, but the dancers seem to lack basic social skills. Fantasies is an upscale club in a very downscale area, and the dancers are woefully inconsistent. In general, the nekkid wimminz in Baltimore have turned into a bad teeth and tattoo parade.

I think some places are Club Bada Bing from the Sopranos. Need your $$ laundered? I’d say most of these places are meant to separate you from your dollars first and foremost. I think there are owners/managers who earnestly try to create a good experience, but to stay in business, you need to keep the revenue flowing. Mons Venus seems to have that system down in Tampa, where money flows but in turn the customers get an experience. Diamond Dolls in Pompano seems to provide a good customer experience though obviously in a very different way. Unfortunately lots of clubs in the DC/Baltimore area where games seem to be played and they take advantage of the occasional customers as their big revenue stream - and the occasional customers are excited about titties and nekkid girls on the dance floor and the whole lap/VIP thing is just a show.

Clubs are fair. You’ll do far better with escort services. They are “somewhat not illegal” and for an hour you can get FS for the price of 30 min VIP in most clubs elsewhere, if not less.

Well, when young males are told by particular media, revisionists, and talking heads that certain personal interactions with women (even looking at them a certain way) constitute harassment (and kissing / feels constitute date rape), it just becomes so much easier to wank to a cam girl, and actually encountering a live woman who bares her boobies is probably an alien experience.

DD and Spearmint Rhino In WPB were the two places I visited. DD is in a different universe then just about any other club, but SR holds up well if you compare to other SCs across the US. Thanks again to everyone.

Unmotivations - Spending money at a club because it’s “there”, even though they won’t (or can’t) offer anything worthwhile. Or potentially getting ripped off.
