No, I was sitting with a bottle of water in front of me on the opposite side of the bar from those LD rooms, more or less kitty-corner from where you were. I was wearing a colorful shirt with palm trees and electric guitars all over it. (It's always a big hit with the girls. lol And one of them today actually identified the Gibson Flying V, the Fender Stratocaster, and the Les Paul. I was impressed.) FYI, I got my best dances from April.

Nice write-up. I have a couple of questions. You said, "I flagged the mesero down, paid the $48 for a booth in the back with 6 lady beers and tipped him an extra 5 to get 45 minutes instead of 30." Was the booth private and how much did the girl charge? Or did the $48 include the girl?

Gotta agree with Papi about DO dances being risky here. Most reprobates (like me) coming to Follies go commando under loose-fitting shorts, giving the girls ready access without actual exposure. My experience, at least at the high-top tables, is that most of the girls I get dances from there have hands that are heat-seeking missiles -- and they rarely miss their target.

I agree with tahoecruz. I've only had a few who didn't "open up" upon being bought a drink. Most were quite handsy, as was I. I guess I'm more on the aggressive side. lol

I actually *did* tip the waitress (and she seemed surprised and appreciative), but oh well... While I was disappointed to be interrupted, I was not totally surprised, as I knew MG has never been a big extras place, and I knew about the raid. However, as Eve said, we were just following the dancer's lead, and I'll almost always push the envelope if I think I might be able to get away with it. Of course, when you're in a private room with two gorgeous naked women, you're definitely not thinking about much else!

I asked Eve to tell our story because she's such a great writer, and I knew y'all would love to hear this from her perspective. I gotta say, the VIP experience was sure nice while it lasted! This was my first time getting thrown out of a club and told never to come back. Fortunately, we were able to laugh about it afterwards, and in the scheme of things, being banned from Mardi Gras is not the end of the world. I mean, if we had been banned from *Follies* for life, I just don't think I could go on living. Lol.

Definitely agree about the $20 fee. In addition to "voting with your dollars by taking them elsewhere," I suggest those of you who live in the area go in, ask to see the manager, and complain to him directly. Otherwise, it might take months and months before they wake up to the fact that customers are not coming in because of the fucking fee. I mean, they can't be all that bright to begin with if they thought this was a good move.

I forgot to mention in my review that one of the dancers told me on Tuesday and Wednesday the lap dances are two for the price of one. I assume there are probably fewer girls working those nights, but if there's at least one to your liking, the value proposition goes way up. A quieter club also means you have a better chance of being alone with your dancer in the LD room.

Nice review, with good info to help the uninitiated. Perhaps the reason you were refused a room at the hotel at 10:00 a.m. was because they were full from the night before. (They do sell out at times, particularly on weekends.) Next time, reserve a room in advance via the hotel website; it costs nothing, and you don't even have to give them a credit card number (though they do need an email address to send you a confirmation). You indicate what time you plan to arrive and they will hold the room for you for up to four hours of the time you list. You could also try their sister hotel across the street. As for air conditioning in the hotel, there is no central AC -- each room has its own unit. When I checked in I paid a (fully-refundable) $20 deposit for a remote control for the AC. I'm not positive, but don't think the AC will work without it. Not sure they will take a deposit and give you the AC remote if you're just using the room for 30 minutes, but I would definitely ask about it on a hot day in Tijuana.

Shill review. Well written, but obviously posted by someone who has an interest in promoting the club. The writer will deny that, I'm sure, but this review reeks.

JAprufrock, see my recent article here on TUSCL and all the comments that follow it for insight into some of the things you asked about. BTW, the white stuff the soap show girls use before they eat each other out is not lube. It's vanilla syrup. Like chocolate topping you'd put on ice cream, only vanilla.

Great review, GoVikings. Definitely gave a good picture of what's available. But $60 for a topless-with-pasties dance? That's criminal. I gasped audibly when I read that.

I used to park across the street all the time, which is probably fine during the day, but the one and only time I stayed at the club until 1:00 a.m., I came out to find my car was booted. Had to call Paul Blart, Mall Cop, to unboot me. Cost me $50. The bouncers do, at times, peek into the VIP rooms, but it's only because people are waiting for the room to become available, and the bouncers want to know if the room is still occupied. I sincerely think they don't give a shit what goes on in there.

Well, *I* didn't remember, but according to TUSCL I last reviewed this club on June 28, 2015.

Great review, Papi. Business takes me to Philly once a year, and this place is a 20-minute walk from the hotel I stay at, so I've been there several times. Helpful Hint: In my experience, they will waive the cover charge if you show them your hotel key.
