MUCH BETTER THAN EXPECTED

I've been to SSJ's a number of times, but it's been quite a while since my last visit. (Just looked up my last review of this place on TUSCL, and it was June 28, 2015.) The TLDR on this review is that I spent *way* too much money and had a great time. This place is, at best, a mid-line club bordering on dive status (with a disgusting men's room), but things have definitely improved since my last couple of visits.

First off, I should say that to my knowledge, this is the only fully nude club in North Carolina. It's on the west edge of town in a stand-alone building. Lots of free parking in a well-lighted lot, which is behind the building – as is the entrance – away from prying eyes. I was there on a Friday night from about 10:30 - 12:30. The cover was $18 (odd...why not $15 or $20?). One good thing about the club is that when you come in and are asked to pay, you are standing in full view of the entire (smallish) club and the stage, and can easily see what girls (and how many) are working. It's a BYOB club, but since I'm a non-drinker, I can't tell you how that works. Bottled water was $3.00 at the bar.

The two people who run the place – the guy at the door/limo driver and the gal behind the bar, Karen, are really, really nice people, and the DJ seems like a decent guy as well. I did not see a single waitress, so "service" is more of the "self" variety. Not a problem, but if you're looking for a Vegas-style nightclub experience with bottle service, food, and glitz in general, you are definitely in the wrong place. I did notice they have gotten new chairs since the last time I was in. Instead of the old beat-up standard hotel ballroom conference-style chairs they used to have, they invested in a bunch of plush rolly type chairs with arms. Since dances are not done in the main room, the chair arms are really not a factor, but if you're in a chair and a girl is sitting right next to you in another chair, there are two arms between you, making "front-room intimacy" more difficult. (I can't believe I just typed that, but it seemed appropriate in this context.) There's a couch you can go sit on, but you can't see the stage from it at all.
