"Divas" is presumably meant to one up the clubs that use "showgirls" in their name or advertising. My impression is that no stripper is every PL's diva, and pretty much all strippers are divas to some PLs.

@Nina that's a good analogy. Maybe an illegal worker works for less than the prevailing wage, so they get hired over a legal worker. But maybe businesses couldn't find enough legal workers without charging more than customers are willing to pay. So they close, leaving their legal employees and customers high and dry.
