It sure wasn’t today’s computers. It weighed 700 pounds and required an air conditioned room. The frickin’ monitor alone cost $2000. And the keyboard weighted 25 pounds!
This was not ancient technologies. It was just the 1980’s and Cheers was on TV not I Love Lucy

The 60’s Westerns were pretty unrealistic. Everyone was neat and clean and well scrubbed.
I thought Lonesome Dove, both the novel and the mini series, did a reasonably good job of showing the dirt and grime of the West.
And Buffalo Heifer was likely a realistic portrayal of a typical whore

Summer holidays are nicely spaced but there’s a pretty long break between January 1 and Memorial Day - especially for those who live in the brutal north.
Easter doesn’t count since it’s on Sunday and many businesses don’t close on Good Friday. And no private businesses that I’m aware of take off for President’s Day or MLK
Maybe something in early mid March. National Stripper’s Day or something like that

yeah, actually I have. The Five Guys near me is always well staffed. They must pay well because they don’t seem to have any staffing shortages. But nearly all the employees are black in a suburb that’s less that 15% AA.

Yes, younger Cuban-Americans are beginning to reverse the trend but 6 out of 10 still identify as Republican and a majority of Florida Cubans voted for Trump in 2020. Cuban support for z trump is twice that of non-Cuban Hispanics

Never really watched westerns growing up. I guess my parents always had something else on. So most of my watching has been in reruns. My top 5 from the 60’s (Modern shows intentionally left off)
