@callme: you should try an overnight stay to get a better handle on things down there... Not being rushed could make it more fun for you.
@bigpat: Sometimes they do, sometimes not. If you get a passport card then you bypass the issue completely.

Good review... this is the second time I've heard about this Tiki lounge, but you seem to place it in BT, not HK... can you pass on some details about that?
I'm pretty sure I've had a drink with Laura and echo your sentiments. Unfortunately I was there to hook up with my ATF and didn't have time to take her up.

I haven't had *any* luck here. Even in Chavelas there are ways to "try before you buy" but not here as far as I can tell... taxi dancing is something I don't need to travel all the way to Mexico for. :-)

Ah. Wasn't clear if her initial expectation was 30 min or 60.

True. Covering your tracks is a losing proposition in the long run IMO. Something will break.

To those who think incognito mode hides your habits, think again. Trackers work just fine in incognito mode (for example, see here: https://www.theregister.co.uk/2019/07/19/smut_sites_sharing/
If you want to be more careful on your phone, get a phone with two SIM slots and a second SIM. Save your contacts on that SIM. Create a second account on the phone and only use it with the second SIM.
Those who think Chrome or Voice are privacy focused should consider the fact that they're made by a company that monetizes the information they collect on your browsing habits.

One of the weak points of the review process is that we don't know the identity of the reviewer or how many reviews that person submitted, so can't take that into account.

@tahoecruz: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder... I can imagine that many would rate my ATF at HK at more than 60 for upstairs but I've never given her less than 80 and always more than she asks for.
I guess there's two broad categories of "regulars" for the ZN, those who are able to make the trip easily/often and those that can't make it more than a couple of times a year for various reasons. I'm in the second camp so that probably makes me less likely to haggle.

HK, Chavelas, Tropical Bar, Cascadas and Rizo are all owned by the same people so they're kind of interchangeable. The main difference between Cascadas and Rizo is that the latter is across the street from HK.

Great read, thanks. One way I've found to help keep the meseros at bay is to tip the girl the odd single to slow her drinking down.
So what do you think of Rizo compared to Casacadas?

I strongly prefer women of color. Every color.
I would have rejected it as incoherent, because I didn't understand it. Founder's system largely works because that may just have been me and three other approvals correct my mistake.
I will approve short reviews if they're for a place I know well, seem genuine, and convey some useful info.
If I'm on the fence, I'll look at other reviews for the club to compare with and go with my gut.

On the original question, the answer for me is no. I tried it a couple of times in Houston when Treasures was in its heyday at the turn of the century and realized that it's far better to be a regular and spend less money but more consistently instead.
I'm not counting my experiences in TJ in this, as that's a totally different category. I don't live in SoCal so just the cost of getting there is comparable to a big night out in a domestic club. And so much more worth it than local clubbing that I have to limit myself.

For any room with a fridge, you have to pay a deposit in cash (US$50). If you don't drink anything out of it, you'll get it back. I've never had any issues with it.

@erik: CC has rooms in Jalos that you can get for relatively cheap, but they're the same quality as the short time rooms. I tried this last year and wasn't very impressed. One of the BGs told me their jacuzzi rooms are nicer (and have AC which the singles do not), but they're $90 and still nowhere near as nice as the Cascadas equivalent. I didn't time it exactly, but I don't think so... I'll definitely check the next time I'm there.

Quick Update: I emailed the hotel, and they confirmed that they will accept prepaid Visa/MC cards to pay for your room. I can't see not doing this for my next trip down there...

Can't say about the shaving cream show... closest I got to seeing it was the meseros cleaning up the stage on one visit. You can always use digits, but sparingly since they're looking for the $5.

The 60 min booths are $80 plus what you negotiate (50-100 depending on the girl), and include a bucket of 10 (if I remember right) lady beers.

Enjoyable as always. I wonder why the meseros in CC are so persistent... it seems to be more so at night so don't think it's a question of how busy the place is. I finally get a chance to share some of my own impressions this weekend, so thanks for the extra motivation. :-)
Are the 30 min booths still without the curtains?

Had the same experience in Juarez back in the nineties... met up with some friends in El Paso and walked straight from my taxi to my hotel on the MX side without encountering anyone.
Looking forward to the fact that I will be flying in to TIJ in about a week and bypassing that crap altogether.
