Sorry to hear that brother. I bought a travel money belt off Amazon when I first started going years back. It looks like a normal belt but has a zipper on the inside to hold folded bills. For the $15 it costs, it gives me a lot of comfort. My large bills are always in there or the hotel safe.

I was there last month and the two new elevators are complete and functioning. They are only to the back (alley) side and only go to the same hotel entrance as the other two on that side. There may be more to the plan eventually. But at least it was nice not to have to wait anywhere near as long as before.

You can get a free drink every 12 hours with VIP. I will sometimes head down to get my free drink coupon as soon as I’m eligible (Don Julio 70 for me) even if I’m headed somewhere else. It starts the clock on the next free one. I think DJ70 is like $9 or $10 at the bar, so between that and the Mon/tues room discount, VIP card pays for itself. Even if you don’t drink, you can use it for water or soda. It also gives a discount at Restaurante Azul. I’ll usually have at least one meal there, so it’s a couple more dollars worth.

I looked into the spa services when I first started going 5-6 years ago. They were massively overpriced compared to options in TJ. The rooms were on the second floor above what is now the bar by the back check-in. I would inquire with Serenity, bienstar, or balance massage for real relaxation. For the fiancé, just be sure she gets her fantasy fulfilled. Focus on her and you’ll be fine. There are plenty of girls in HK whom will accommodate.

Just to follow-up, they did let me check in about 9am. I obviously was charged for the whole prior night. But at the $30 VIP on a Monday rate, that wasn't a big deal. I do believe my original reservation was cancelled. Because they did mention looking for available rooms first before allowing my check-in. But it can be done if rooms are available.
