A ton of companies do that, and have done that throughout the brief history of the United States. What's giving people pause is how quickly those companies rode the way of accelerated tech evolution and slow response of government policy to respond. "Slow" is code for commonly talented elected or appointed officials who look stupid when compared with industry elite.
And they're all using Microsoft's playbook of telling the US Gov to go stuff itself after the Gov threatened to AT&T them over Internet Explorer getting embedded in Windows and...whatever, you guys can go look it up for yourselves. Point is this shit isn't something a bunch of horndogs are going to solve in a titty bar forum.

They happen from time to time. Well before whatever political social media bullshit erupted over people's upset about this or that.
Leaving the rest of it alone, isn't it interesting how in 2021 millions of ordinary people somehow think their minor thoughts and actions merit some unseen force to pay attention to their lives?
So I can be explicit about it, gammanu95's comment reminded me about this puzzling aspect of so many people thinking they're of outsized importance due to global reach. It's not a response to what he posted.

That's a yes for gmd. I'm reading Rick Dugan's as a maybe, but I'm seeing maybe there's a possible no.
My take on what Rick is saying is that the ATF's get picked at that place in time. Kind of like sports champions from a different era maybe not being able to win in today's game. I agree with that, because my first ATF wouldn't make the squad now but she was the ATF until the second ATF came along. Totally on board.
But can the current ATF (who is the legit ATF at peak powers but threw some kryptonite in there) knock things so out of whack that she undoes her All Time status? For my example up a little higher, ATF #4 has her name stricken from the record and ATF #3 reclaims the crown? I'm on the fence about ATF's getting scrubbed, but will chime in with what I'm leaning toward before I pick the question out to the main forum.

What seems to be the norm on the main board is your CF (current fav) is the flavor of the moment. The ATF is the All Time Fav, the Fav of Favs, and there can be only one. So the question was, if someone gets there on your list (my ATF #4 displaced ATF #3 after an 11 year stay on top) would TUSCL say an ATF can get dropped from the list without getting bumped by a new all time champ?

In some cases they are us. People are complicated. Companies fucked around with things they didn't understand because for years it seemed like easy money. Rewired people's brains by the millions with much greater velocity and effect than most people realized because it turned basically everyone with access into a content producer. Now nothing will be easy.

When I was younger and bored I sought out some of the dancers mentioned in TUSCL reviews to see what the fuss was about. Sometimes the fuss was even justified. Other times you could see how it wore them down for being "that girl". But even then I never bothered to look up the dancers on Stripperweb who self-promoted while talking about what cheapskate idiots we all are. That way I'd never be tempted to have my way with any of them just to prove a point.
