Stripper Poles Spin, Don't They?

drewcareypnw
not the real drew carey, but I play him at strip clubs...
TBH I don't look at the pole, I look at the dancer. And, I'm not interested in Flying Karamazov Brothers style pole tricks. I DGAF if a dancer can fly around in circles 10 feet up while hanging upside down by her ankles and juggling flaming clubs. The pole looks like a dick to me, and I like watching a girl wrap herself around and rub up and down on a dick, preferably mine but a brass one will do. I don't care about gymnastics.

So, when the fancy pole tricks come out, I don't really pay much attention. Recently I noticed a local pole-tricks focused dancer going around and around the pole, and I thought: "isn't that going to give her thighs a friction burn?" Then I noticed that the pole was spinning. DUHHHH. Poles spin. I've been going to strip clubs for 30+ years, and just noticed the damn poles rotate.

Is this a new thing? Or did then always do that? I feel like some poles don't rotate.

In my experience spinning poles are the exception, not the rule. Don't see them very often in my travels. Then again I'm not there for the (stage) pole tricks.

Some poles spin, others don't. The clubs that are big on high energy pole tricks usually have at least one pole that spins on the main stage.

I won't say none of them spin but I don't recall ever seeing one that did.

They don't always spin but they can. It depends on how she's using it.

Im not into pole tricks or anything though

I actually dislike fancy pole tricks. I sit there worried that the girl might fall and hurt herself. For that reason, I don't encourage that by giving dancers big tips for doing anything that looks even slightly dangerous.

I've asked dancers why they do this, and they claim they make more in tips when they do. This is a case where I'm falsely assuming other customers are just like me. If you see a certain common behavior among dancers in a strip club, it is most likely because that behavior is being rewarded. I've noticed numerous situations where I've seen slow personality changes in long time regulars. They become more like the female fantasy of the typical strip club customer because the customers reinforce certain stripper behaviors by having a positive response to them.

Although I am more inclined to get LD from a dancer who can do tricks on poles. Doesn’t always correlate to a good grinding but more than often it does.

Depends on the club. We don’t have many spinning poles here in Bmore. The only one I know of is Nightshift, about which I coincidentally wrote a review today. They also spin at OZ in Tampa. I marvel at the athleticism and grace of the dancers that work on their craft. We have another club here,Millstream, that had long silks and would pay for the girls to get trained. The dancers have turned over, but back in the day they did some of them did some crazy amazing shit. It’s a good change of pace.

I appreciate pole tricks, and I'll tip and clap accordingly. I haven't found that they give a better dance, just that they are athletic on that pole.

Lust in Martinsburg has all spinning poles, Fantasies, Gentlemen's Gold Club and McDoogal's don't. Never noticed at Penthouse Club. Paper Moon Springfield also doesn't.

Most of the Deja Vu clubs I've been to, at least in Los Angeles, have a spinning pole placed up front on the main stage. The Vu in North Hollywood also had (taken out a while back) a spinning pole in the outdoor smoking area.

I suppose the spinners enable more creative pole tricks. But like you, I rarely sport a chub based on how fast a dancer can flail her goldfish-tank heels through the air. (Yes, clear stripper boots with fake goldfish in the heel is a real thing - sadly.)

How significant are these poles? I can't think of a single club review that bothered to mention whether the stage pole spins or was static.

Something I never really thought about.

for a while I made note whether or not the pole would spin or not. bottom line is that doesn't matter. most dancers now seem to just lean on the pole instead of doing any tricks on it.

It's a mix around here. Some do, some don't. A lot of the ones that spin have what looks like a brake rotor on the top/bottom.

I don't care either way. I'm not super impressed by extensive pole tricks. I like to see a girl put a little effort into a stage show, but realistically even if she doesn't, if she's hot I'm gonna talk to her either way.

I agree with the OP regarding my interest in pole tricks when I’m in a strip club. If it’s photos or video - then it can be a very cool thing to watch.

To be honest - I don’t remember any poles at a Paterson NJ club that I frequent. Maybe it’s just that I’m distracted by the dancers and their sexy bodies?

The one at my local club does spin.
I appreciate good pole tricks, especially done slow and sensuously. Enjoy seeing top peeled off while upside down, coming around like clockwork, titty, titty, titty . . .

Spinning poles normally have a pin you can insert at the base of the pole to keep it stationary, so it can vary from night to night or even from dancer to dancer.

Pole tricks have become almost a dying art these days in strip clubs. Few strippers actually bother to learn any tricks. I assume spinning poles are used more by professional pole dancers during competitions and whatnot. I do remember this one girl at the Harem in NJ who would do some crazy stunts on the pole. Extra points for stripping while doing a pole trick. As for safety, I was never concerned. I've never seen a stripper fall off a pole in all my years. They know what they're doing.

It took me quite a while to realize they spin. You're not alone.
