Motorhead, Trucidos came back under a new profile and bumped old threads with new comments. Founder deleted that profile. But old threads stay "bumped" even if the comment owner's profile gets deleted.

It's always worth taking a quick glance at thread dates before responding. There aren't many unmoderated sites left to troll. Trolls cause the need for moderation, moderation stifles trolls, and the cycle goes on. That's why they are trolling a strip club web site.
Now, why do they feel the need to troll in the first place? Because they have no life. Literally, if they had other outlets, they would spend time doing that instead of trolling here. Some of our members are older, retired, or mostly housebound due to COVID and other reasons. TUSCL often provides a better experience than strip clubs do currently. Some people lack the human ability to disagree without being disagreeable. Others are just useless. They take their frustration, their fear, their anger about the powerlessness and uselessness of their lives and project it onto the faceless message board. It may take the form of rape fantasies, pimp fantasies, HIV fantasies, cult leader fantasies, etc. In line with current generational paradigms, they feel entitled to post here and become disproportionately enraged when an authority figure removes their privileges; and so they return under a new moniker and redouble their efforts to antagonize others for their own gratification. They are too damaged to fix. They cannot be reasoned with, they will not have their worldview challenged and be forced to face their life failure. it's just an inherent hazard of using an anonymous, unmoderated, internet message board.
Once upon a time, we could say that we will just ignore these useless fools and go about our own business. However, all of the internet radicalization (from ISIS to QAnon to ANTIFA to Buffalo) has proven that such unhinged people will find each other and reinforce their own perversity while recruiting new sickos and metastasize. The ministry of truth is not the answer. Big brother is not the answer. Like guns, abortion, the death penalty, and distracted drivers, we will need to learn to deal with each individual case according to our own tolerances and principles.

Probably more serious than the thread deserves but, there have been plenty of studies on internet trolls, and they are pretty consistent: they tend to be angry, miserable people, often unable to make connections or friends in their real life. People can't live without connection, and internet trolling gets them a lot of attention, even if it's negative (which they also enjoy). They're unable to get positive attention even on the internet, so that avenue isn't available. Trying to figure out why they troll, from the perspective of normal (or what passes as normal here on tuscl 🤣 ) psychology isn't going to illuminate anything. Imagine if you were isolated, miserable, damaged, and the only way you could get attention is through negative interactions... once they find their site, this is their life, which is why they don't stop coming.
This is also why so many of us are sure dougster is still around. He stage-managed his exit, but unless he got psychological help, tuscl was his life and is still his life. So when another troll shows up shortly after, cringily pretending to be street while being obviously incredibly not-street, that's where suspicion fell. On top of that, I don't know what capabilities the current software has, but if it has policies where (for example) new users have to have their posts approved by a moderator, that would let a few active mods re-ban the trolls before their posts make it to the forum. There's likely lots of solutions already available, but aren't being used; I don't know of any other forum, even based on older software like this one, that hasn't figured out to how to handle trolls. Although most require a dedicated mod team, which this site could easily have, given how many trusted regular members check in a few times a day

IP bans are archaic but can mitigate but in reality you'd have to grant some low level mod permissions to block/ban (or at least flag) accounts and you can then ban them.
