Probably the most famous people I've met and had a conversation with is Jerry West at a golf tournament while he was still GM of the Lakers. Also Mel Gibson. Both very nice and approachable.
I've met a few famous people, but the most relevant was meeting Marilyn Manson in a strip club. He was kind of a dick to everyone, one dancer told me he wasn't tipping at all.
He also wore a sharpie around his neck so he could sign autographs, kind of weird IMHO.
And he was really tiny in person, but in my experience celebrities are always smaller IRL than on the TV.
I’ve met a few, John F. Kennedy at the White House, I was 12, my dad had reason to go to Washington D. C. on business he took me on his business trip, after his business was done we went to the White House for a prearranged visit. President Kennedy, was greeting visitors, when he met my dad, they had a brief chat, my pops had a service medal from his WWII service. We were brought to the Oval Office for a private visit and Caroline Kennedy was there as well. She was the same age as me, I still have the photographs from the White House and a bronze medallion that President Kennedy gave to me.
That’s not the only famous person I’ve met but certainly one of the most memorable.
I've met a few---Denzel, Garry Marshall, Steven Bochco, John Lithgow, Jamie Lee Curtis, Bob Iger---because I was at Disney as a writer---the coolest was Johnny Depp, a chain smoker and at the time, loved cheeseburgers---we originally met in D.C. years ago when I worked @Air & Space Museum and then 20 yrs. later @Disney during a lunch break in the cafeteria. Real cool and he looked at me and said, "Man, I've talked with you before," and then it hit him, "In D.C." I said, "You have a good memory." He was doing some "looping" for a Pirates of The Carribean sequel.
My grandmother lived on the same street as Lou Gerhig. She had pictures over her and the neighborhood kids playing ball with the Yankees. Even Babe Ruth. Try that it today's world. I needed to throw that out.
I met Jimmy Carter several times and have had a conversation. He and my grandfather were friends. I’ve met Bill Clinton, Biden, and Obama briefly.
As far as athletes I’ve met a lot of Braves players including talked with Hank Aaron, Chipper, and Tom Glavine. In college I knew Richard Seymour of Patriots fame.
I’ve met a few tennis players as well. Probably the most famous was Boris Becker.
In my teens I played baseball with or against two future Cy Young winners and a couple of future NFL Quarterbacks. The most famous being Randy Johnson.
I met Dick Van Dyke's lesser-known brother, Jerry, at a VA hospital when he was entertainment for the patients. He became more famous years later when he was in the tv show Coach.
I met some other sports guys in normal situations and all were just normal guys.
Also met a couple of porn stars along the way that I hung out with. The most famous was Ciera Sage. She was just a normal girl when we hung out a few times. I had one of my few sex doubles with her and a friend or hers. I had more fun with her solo.

In TL in Upland I talked to actor, Richard Gant. He was doing the reboot of the Wonder Years at the time as the grandfather. He was wild that night!

@WOODDR2 - Jerry West’s coach at WVU and the Lakers was Fred Schaus. He used to be my neighbor when he was alive.
