Just out of curiosity where did you come up with 3-5 states as being the right number. It seems like at least 50% or more of the population in this country are democrats. Shouldn't they get 50% of the states?

Better yet, give the 10 western most states to the hardcore AOC style libs and give 10 southeastern states to the hardcore MAGA style conservatives and leave everything else to the rest of us that actually use common sense instead of partisanship to decide how we think and how we vote.

the reason why i came up with 3-5 was the damage done in those areas over the past year. even though in general it's not in their nature to be happy types i figured that if they were to be left strictly in those states they perhaps would be more than content.

but yeah 10 here, 10 there and the rest of the states inhabited by ones who still value common sense - i'd vote in favor of that for sure.

Can't I even visit relatives in Minnesota? They're kinda a purple state. Mostly go for the fishing.

Look at the county by county election maps from 2020. Libs get all the blue cities. Everything else is red. Nobody needs to move. Within 3 years, every blue territory will look like Escape From New York.

Second, more than 50% of the voters chose the Democratic candidate in the last 2 presidential elections.

Third, we Americans will live anywhere we want. We won't be dictated to by Trump rioters, losers and QAnon.

AZ is pretty purple these days. Plenty of Californians. I’ve been here a long time and the vibe has changed dramatically. From a cowboy/libertarian vibe to an urban environment. Sad. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.

the majority if not all of the red states would still be ok. costs of living in those states are among the lowest in the entire nation. then again the republican sect would be ok. it's the dems who would suffer the most, as they're the ones who are mainly dependent on these funds. especially long term unemployment.

also there's been a mass exodus of blue heading towards red states. lots of people from blue areas earning high incomes are getting sick and tired of gross excessive wasteful spending on projects that wind up being huge pile of shit. the infrastructure of some of these blue areas rates as some of the worst.

People from blue states are like locusts and that's why they move. They suck the life out of one parcel of land (California) and then move on to the next plot (Arizona, Idaho).

The idea that blue states spend money frivolously and red states are better with money is a completely made up idea that only people too lazy to do the simple math would believe. The reason taxes are so low red states is that they are welfare states that take more government money than they pay in taxes. The math is simple. The ONLY states in the country who's citizens and businesses pay more in federal taxes than the states receive are New York, New Jersey, Mass, California, Connecticut, Minnesota, Colorado, & Utah. The ONLY red state on that list is Utah and it's barely on it. Every other state in the union relies on those 7 blue states to pay for the government services that they refuse to pay out of their own state taxes. It's socialism plain and simple and its the red state maga/QAnon idiots who benefit the most. Do the math and show me I'm wrong. I already know you won't bother because math doesn't lie.

since this thread keeps being bumped anyway i might as well share the results of my space geneious forward time projection future history projector. if the usa was partitioned into into a republican and democratic countries here is how it would go:

with much fanfare the us is divided into the red states of america (RSA) and the blue cities of america (BCA). the negotiations to divide the military were difficult, but most personnel ultimately chose to remain in the service controlled by their country of residence. the largest challenge was partitioning the nuclear arms, but the BCA ultimately abandoned the nuclear triad and limited their nuclear arms to their submarine service. RSA ships were even allowed, by treaty, to use port facilities under the jurisdiction of the BCA.

partitioning is surprisingly straightforward, with only the most die-hard and obsessed political partisans choosing to move in response to the partition. it turns out that the vast majority had already chosen to live in cities vs exurbs and rural area. trade actually flourished, with RSA agriculture acting as the breadbasket for the BCA and the BCA specializing in tech.

The BCA even launches an ambitious high speed train infrastructure project. The RSA readily agrees to this project, allowing these trains to cross RSA jurisdictions as long as the stations are built at the edge of BCA territory where it is convenient for RSA citizens to board. Thus begins a new era of cooperation where most Americans are happy and love their countrymen. Many even wonder why the partitioned occurred in the first place.
