When You Had A Great Time In A Poorly Reviewed Club
Eve
Where there's a hole, there's a way. [HIATUS]
My own example was a couple years back at Stud's Pub (now known as Pinky's) in Jacksonville. My friend took me there on a whim and I was terrified at first because I had read the reviews of the place before. Hole in the wall, ugly dancers, dangerous neighborhood, rude staff, no customers, lame music, the whole nine yards.
We go in and the bartender was really friendly (and kinda hot), they had a ridiculous special for a pitcher (about 6 glasses worth) of Long Island Iced Teas for only $12 - and it was good. They had some... interesting looking girls, but 1 out of the 4 of them was at least an 7 on my rating scale and she was pretty playful in their private dance room.
Only complaint I really had was that the pool tables were right next to the room and there was a guy shooting pool that periodically peaked inside to watch our dance. Rude as fuck, but it was still a mostly positive visit that contrasted heavily with what mongers were reporting.

Bad club + that one that rocks my world = good trip
Another one was Centerfolds in SF. Mixed reviews but one of the hottest experiences I’ve had in a strip club.
In both cases you just have to dig a little deeper to get what your looking for and granted yes on the surface they may seem like shitty tourist trap type clubs.
All the reviews talked about overbthe hill, out of shape, unfriendly, and unmotivated dancers. When I went there, I saw mostly out of shape, generally unattractive dancers, but no manatees. However, it just so happened that there was one dancer, who only danced twice a week and otherwise was a certified personal fitneas trainer. She was damn near a 10, just a little too long in the tooth. She was incredibly fit- great muscle tone without being musclebound, especially her abs, glutes, and legs. We had a lot of fun with lap dances and conversation, but there did not seem to be any options for mileage or extras.
I would have become a regular for her if she was not exclusively day shifts and so inconveniently located.
Passed through SLC earlier this year pre-Covid. SLC clubs get justifiably slammed here, primarily for no touching and lesser for no alcohol. But for kicks I like trying out clubs in cities where have never clubbed before.
Before trip, read some reviews. Tuscler jstark posted review shortly before my trip saying dancer Dani was good in private room, and Tuscler mcmeister chimed in saying Dani is best girl there. So I dropped in to check it out.
Overall the club is a low energy pasties snoozefest, the hotter girls aloof with some perceived GPS, and many staring at phones or spending more time in dressing room than on floor (dressing room door is next to stage so easy to see who's going in and out).
While waiting for Dani to break free, got some VIP chair dances from Scarlet, boooring, hands at side, but she was playing by house rules so understandable. Subsequently did half hour room with Dani and she was good as advertised and departed happy despite general lameness of SLC clubs. So, as FishHawk says above, only takes dancer to make a good visit. Without Dani recommendation it would've been a terrible visit and would've been spending $ on learning curve seeking out a Dani type. So thank you tuscl and reviewers. Didn't post a review before Covid hit and with the dismay of post-Covid reviews of pre-Covid trips, this is it.
One odd thing about club was half the girls walking around with hoodie sweatshirts despite not being that cold inside club. And there was post-stage set tip stroll by girl which I'd never experienced before.
If you follow the reviews them clubs with cheap hookers are good. Every other place is a rip off lulz
I went to explore just for what I expected to be a tour of the seedy, underbelly of strip clubbing, and mostly that's what I saw. But then I happened to wander into one club in the middle of a block (can't remember the name). I had to head up a flight of stairs to get into the bar area and was greeted with the famous "Baltimore Handshake" by a 40-ish blond who could have come from Quasimodo's family reunion. After I got at stool at the bar - alone - I started to chat up the barmaid/house mom. For some reason she decided she liked me. Maybe it was because I tipped her the change from my twenty dollar bill for my $6 beer? Anyway, she decides to offer me something unexpected; a 21 year old brunette spinner who was on her 2nd day on The Block. "Why don't you take her to the back room for a while. She really wants to know how much fun she can have..." Well I did a double take, and just stared at this 103 lb. beauty smiling at me in her string bikini and looking demure and horny at the same time. "Umm... how much is a dance in the room?" I asked. The House Mom said it was $120 to take her back for 30 minutes and if I tip the dancer another $80 there were no limits.
I was already dropping six $20's on the bar as she finished telling me the price when the dancer took my hand and led to me what I can only describe as a broom closet (including 2 brooms in a corner) with a 3 foot bench seat on the far wall.
Fun was had. A lot of fun. I don't think I can over state how much fun was had. Anyway, I got laid.
Tipped her a Benjy a left a very happy visitor to "Charm City."
Had a similar experience to Herbtcat, only in Paterson, NJ. Three down n out clubs adjacent, practically, to each other. I figured, I'd already tipped the hood rat to watch my car, so I'll hit all three. Bounced out of 1 and 2 in short order, and 3 wasn't looking like it was going to change my streak. Then Ivonette walked up, smiled, a warm hug like and old friend, and she sat down saying "I Saw you walk in, you're not used to this, are you? You must go to better places" I said, well, frankly, yes, but I don't know if I've ever met better company". Three hours later we were re-enacting the in-auto scene from Titanic in a booth that was probably 1/4 the size of that car. Kept in touch with her, but Never went back once she left the club.
Multiply that by about 20 and that was the Block in its heyday. One time I thought s guy and his dancer might crash through a second story window overlooking the bar. Dude must've lost his balance because there was a crash and pale ass cheeks up against the glass because the blinds came down. If you've been that club you'll know which one it was.
Sometimes a club can overall suck but offer a certain niche that will work for some people.
NAAAASTY
Went to the club, and there was about 8 customers and 6 dancers. All the customers looked like they were there just to drink and watch the TV's.
Dancers were just sitting around the club looking bored. I got a drink at the bar, and sat down. Dancers looked to be a lot prettier than described. Drinks and dances were cheap so I was a bit less picky on which dancers to try, and up getting dances from four out of the 6 dancers, and all but the first was good.
Dances were definitely not all air like they were described, plenty of two way contact all but the first.
Okay. I’m going to admit it. I was thinking about the ice cream thread and wondered who the hell likes eggplant ice cream? Took me a few to realize what Eve meant. Damn I’m old.
Dancers in some clubs are described as "aloof", and too stuck up to dance for (their) money. I just try to project a friendly image, show some willingness to spend, and you know what? It works! The one thing SJG said that I could agree with is "Don't treat them like dancers." As a caveat, I think there is a big difference in how we treat civvies, lol.
I will also say that the expectations you have of what constitutes a good time will have a major effect on your perception of the experience
