Title says it all. Those Godless Dems are so worried about a Right leaning SCOTUS they are actually starting impeachment proceedings! They have kept Dick Cheney alive this long - so RBG should last at least another 5 years. This is opening up a huge pandora's box of political shit - and it could backfire in a major way towards a limp dick Congress.

We have to abandon the Electoral College. It is the legacy of 3/5's, and it is why we have a right leaning court. 2x G. W. Bush, 1x Trump, more people voting for their strongest opponent. SJG

^Nobody wants dumbass Cali and Ny running the country. Two broke ass backwards over regulated states. Abandoning a system that has worked more than it hasn’t over the past 200 yrs is stupid. Course the dems gonna try to impeach. They gotta take the focus off those shitstains they call ‘candidates’. ^Wrong. Property values in CA are high because of overregulation. CEQA is a disaster. The government forces CFD infrastructure to be union which gets passed on to the homebuyers. The unions and PAC groups own your politicians. It’s a mess out there. Nice place to visit, but sure as shit don’t want thank the lord the bozos who elect dummies like Maxine Waters don’t run my country. Want change, put up a good candidate instead of these sorry retreads.

Property values are high because a lot of people like to live here. That it is hard to build new residences helps to keep them high. The politics go the way they do because people walk into the voting booths and use those metal pins and punch out the chads. Maxine Waters is a very nice woman and I am most pleased that we have elected her. Probably one of the most progressive members in congress, not counting some new progressive women. :) :) :) Pistola, you read Right Wing Shit Head News! SJG

When starting a comment with “Pelosi is a very smart lady” - the bar for intellect is set very low. This is a sad - and poorly veiled effort - to avoid a SCOTUS that is to the right. It is obvious VH_Dicks and SJG see anus to anus on this issue - so there is a definite meeting of the mindless. This move will further divide an already divided country - and it will do nothing to improve the dems chances to win back the White House in 2020.

So you’re ok with Trump withholding funds from Ukraine; asking Ukraine to investigate the leading democratic opponent in 2020; withholding the whistleblower complaint from congress? This is ok behavior? I don’t know if it’s enough to impeach but these are the facts and they are undisputed. It’s certainly enough to investigate.

I don’t think the Dems are as worried as you guys think, they are quite aware that a successful impeachment will make A moron named Mike Pence the President I think you guys are underestimating what is going on, Trump is getting taken to the woodshed,, you can see it in yesterday’s press conference This is a guy who’s always gotten bailed out, by someone else now he’s in trouble his main fixer is in jail and his new fixer Rudy, had best be extremely careful lest he end up the same way. Pelosi is a very smart lady --- she knows impeachment will not happen. Uncle Donald does not need glasses because he has got 2020 when either Uncle Joe or Miss Liz can lock up the nomination to he in the nut house--- the endless parade of subpoenaed witnesses and documents between now and then are gonna drop Dems pathetic approval rating by about 1-2% each month --- Dems be lucky to be in the 20's by the time the Dem convention takes place in Milwaukee :-) Also remember --- Obama was constrained by a Senate mandate to only investigate the Russia interference in our election --- an impeachment inquiry is wide open and means Nadler and Schiff can drag in front of Congress many Obama Org. executives from 30 years ago to reveal obama Cuck's involvement in money-laundering and tax and insurance fraud dating back to the 80's --- plus is looking at a serious chance at treason charges if this Ukraine quid pro quo goes deeper than we think. You left-wing cunt rags really fucked up this time --- the USSR Obamatanic is sinking fast and you filthy Beta Cuck vermin are going down to the bottom with it, baby !! Mighty Dems owned by Deplorables --- AGAIN :-)

Kind of funny that the real fraud in all of this is stupid Joe Biden who actually did what the democrats arewhining about. Mike Pense is a success and someone who supports democrats, who are now led by AOC should consider whom they follow. If the Democratic base actually worked they might realizwe they elected a bunch of losers who have done no work at all. India and Pakistan are on the verge of war over Kashimir and all the democrats can do is tryu to turn America into a filthy socialist welfare state.

===> "So you’re ok with Trump withholding funds from Ukraine; asking Ukraine to investigate the leading democratic opponent in 2020; withholding the whistleblower complaint from congress? This is ok behavior?" Far preferable to the notion that a VP peddled his influence to shut down an investigation against his son's company. A company btw that was paying Hunter Biden $600k per year for what exactly? If Hunter wasn't Joe's son he'd have trouble gaining employment at all given his checkered past, including his dishonorable discharge from the Navy Reserves in 2014 for a second drug offense. I can't stop scratching my head at how Dem supporters think. They spend two years chasing a bogus narrative about Russian collusion, sprinkled in with unsupported accusations that Trump has inherent conflicts because he actually owns multi-national businesses. Then you're faced with stupidly obvious issues, like a VP actively involved in negotiating policy with the Ukraine while his son is getting handsomely paid by a Ukraine company that is under investigation, or a Clinton Foundation that raked in gobs of money from foreign governments and then had to shut down when the Clintons had no more influence to peddle, and you don't bat an eye. So the merest hint of impropriety on the part of Trump is enough to make them hike up their skirts with shrill squeals, but blatantly obvious corruption from their candidates is shrugged off or rationalized away. Well, if they were capable of critical thinking they would likely be Republicans, so I suppose that we shouldn't be too surprised, but sheesh.

^ Rick you are totally mischaracterizing this, the people calling for this investigation are people working in the White House hired by Trump, a better analogy would be calling the fire department to put out this fire recklessly caused by POTUS by smoking in bed. The DNI is an acting staff position appointed by this administration You’re the one that appears to be incapable of critical thinking. SHEESH your fuckn self. That’s a lot of words to make a whataboutism complaint and dodge the question. Do you think what Trump did is ok? We spent two years hearing from both sides collusion with a foreign power is bad. Now you have the president admitting he asked a foreign government to help take down an election threat and your answer is “so what?” You should admit to yourself that you don’t have an open mind.

===> "Do you think what Trump did is ok?" @Jimmy: Do I think it was ok for Trump to ask the Ukraine leader to look into how much influence a former U.S. VP had in shutting down an investigation against the Ukrainian company employing his problem son for $600k? Duh, of course I do, especially when the VP was placed in charge of diplomatic efforts with that country during that time. Do you find corruption more acceptable when it is your own party doing it? Obviously you must. Wouldn't you want to know if Biden used his influence over U.S. policy towards the Ukraine to ensure that his son kept getting paid? I would encourage you to read the actual call transcript.
  • Hank Moody
I’ve read the call transcript. And “my party” is the Republican Party. More than 30 years a republican. So, I guess it comes down to a question of intent for you? I don’t see it that way. If he is using a foreign government to attack a US citizen, I have a problem with that. I agree that if Biden did misuse his office, that’s also a problem but two wrongs don’t make a right and all that. For the record, I don’t believe Trump suddenly got religion on rooting out world corruption. (E.g., he seems perfectly ok with Putin, Kim, MBS and Netanyahu.) But I don’t expect you’ll admit the fighting collusion excuse was targeted at his likely opponent for political purposes.
  • rickdugan

I agree that Trump's timing is suspect, but we should nonetheless want to know the truth. If Biden used U.S. policy to benefit his moron son when he had just a hint of power as VP, what is he going to do with the full power of the Presidency at his disposal?

Obama gave Iran money which they used to gas women and children in Syria. VH supports the murder of women and children.
  • Hank Moody
Obama didn’t “give” money to Iran. Obama released Iran’s money back to Iran that we had seized around the time of the hostage crisis in the early 1980’s. We were about to lose a court decision and have to pay even more than what we actually returned so Obama settled the lawsuit. Big difference.
  • Call.Me.Ishmael

Trump's call to the Ukraine was, as relayed in the information released by the White House itself, inappropriate and shows both poor conduct and possible regulatory/legal violation(s). And, oddly, I read an article on Fox News laying out a case that reporting from both the Washington Post and Wall Street Journal leading up to release of the transcript and complaint has been accurate and not "fake news." So, there's that. Does it meet the legal requirements for impeachment? Not sure. Even if it does, I'm nearly certain that impeachment won't happen. Because the math isn't there in the Senate. But I do think that it should be vigorously investigated for wrongdoing or worse. And if Biden gets dragged down as a result of his own wrongdoing, I'm okay with that.

The real point here is that this Guy (Trump) is an illegitimate phony from the very get go, he’s not a Republican and all those supporting him and his agenda have thrown the real Republican agenda under the bus in their thirst for power for its own sake, nothing here is being done for the general good, it all about benefiting a small group of cabal of wealthy thrives that have never done a legitimate days work in their lives.

You sound like a polite version of VH. Simple fact is most people support Trump because we have difficulty even thinking of progressives as Americans. Obama gave cash money to Iran so it could not be traced. About to lose a Court decision lol. Whatever. The Iran nuclear deal wasn't permanent so allowing them to gas women and children for a ten year delay may be acceptable to progressives, but not Americans

But if Biden pressured the Ukrainian government to drop an investigation so that his drug addled moron of a son could keep his cushy $600k per year gig, we should all hear about ti regardless of the underlying motives of those who do the digging. In fact it was that same thinking that led to a ridiculous 2 year circus act predicated entirely upon a ginned up dossier paid for by the opposition party and they had far less to go on than the all too obvious conflicts that Biden had.

The basic truth is that impeachment is more political - than legal. Its being used by Pelosi because she sees what is coming. She's finally begun to see that the people aren't going towards the far left - and she's pulling out her weapon of last resort. Trump acts arrogant. He's not what might be considered a decent man. He seems to be a dick. But, the dems don't seem to have anyone who can beat him. The possibility of Trump remaining in office remains very strong - even though he seems to be unlikable. The dems should move towards the center - and work on job creation in the private sector. They should move away from support for illegal immigration - and offer their full support for our brave military. If they pledged to cut the fat - and dropped taxes - they could run away with the election. A centrist candidate - who isn't an ass - would appeal to a major portion of the electorate.
  • datinman

"A centrist candidate - who isn't an ass - would appeal to a major portion of the electorate." AMEN. Biden is now toast because of the allegations, real or imagined. Sanders, Warren, Harris are so far left, I couldn't vote for them even as a protest vote. I realize Trump is not going to be successfully impeached. My hope is there is enough blow-back that Republicans sense a possible loss and stage a meaningful primary election even at this late date. If my 2020 choice is Sanders or Trump, I will stay home and attempt to drown myself in Michter's.

I didn't vote for Trump because he'll always be a New York Democrat to me. I won't for him this time. I will send money to any entity publishing attack ads against the democratic nominee unless they decide to pick Steny Hoyer. Progressives are actually far stupider than Trunmp supporters, but they are louder. Never getting a centrist candidate. Once identity politics became the norm, compromise as a possibility ended. The only way this country will reunite is if we are subjected to a very bloody war. We will thenm react as we did after 9/11 and whilethe event was horrific, the aftermath, or at least the first month was good because for the only time in a long time we were united.

Poor, white, uneducated men in rural areas support Trump by an overwhelming margin. These are people left behind in in an information economy and (ironically) they would be far better off with someone like Warren. But they don't read and they're too stupid to understand that brown people are not to blame for their lot in life. So they voted for a reality-TV star.
