Poll: should I road trip to Detroit during vacation?
I’m considering including a stop in Detroit as part of a road trip vacation. But I don’t want to include the extra driving if it’s not really worth it. I would consider it to be worth the drive if the clubs are as great as they are described here, and there are many girls that I would consider hot. But if Detroit clubs are kinda overhyped on TUSCL, and the girls are more skanky than gorgeous... then it’s definitely not worth it to drive for hours just to get some head from some skanky, coked-up dancer. My guess is that there might be two or three, less than 10, girls who are truly gorgeous/hot out of all the clubs in Detroit. But I could be wrong. Unfortunately this is all very subjective.

The only downside is that the most attractive dancers are also the most popular, so you can’t guarantee that your favorite eye candy will even have time for you.
"My guess is that there might be two or three, less than 10, girls who are truly gorgeous/hot out of all the clubs in Detroit." No, that's Cleveland you're talking about. :)
I'll say a couple of things about the Flight Club, which is my favorite. The club is upscale, clean and safe, and they serve good food as well as drinks. The dancers are very friendly and willing to play. Most of the dancers are white, but there are always a few black dancers. Very few latinas and even fewer Asians. I find the dancers mostly attractive, with many 8's and 9's. This is not a club ad, because (unfortunately) I don't own the Flight Club.
Go so you can say been-there-done-that and don't have to wonder how it is - and you may end up having a great-time and perhaps even wanting to return.
Must-Visit Club:
- Flight Club
Other Good Clubs
- BT’s
- Criket
- Landing Strip
- Subi’s Place
Clubs to Avoid (per your preference)
- Bogarts
- Henry VIII North
- Henry VIII South
Go to Flight Club.
I will not spend in PA anymore specifically Pittsburgh.
Some things about clubbing in (metro) Detroit to keep in mind:
- Most clubs will charge for booth seating in addition to cover ($20 seems to be the goung rate). It's a pain, but the potential up-side is that getting a booth shows the dancers you've got money to spend - and gives you a bit more privacy than bar or table seating while you get to know each other.
- Be prepared for sticker shock on drink prices (alcohol or not) unless you happen to hit a happy hour special. Flight Club is particularly guilty of this, with literally nothing under $10.
- If you've read the reviews, you're probably already aware that you can usually get the best deal by negotiating services rather than pricing per dance or by time. Do your research to have a solid understanding of market rates, and remember the first price you hear - especially if they know you're from out of town - will often be double what you should normally pay.
Well good question skibum - maybe he wants to stop at football hall of fame, rocknroll hall of fame, he’ll pass at least 3 decent casinos, Indians, browns, tigers, lions.... wow that sounds like an ad for all the Rick animals.
I still say of all the rust belt cities Detroit is one of the most intriguing to me.
Come for the strip clubs, stay because you got murdered
I say don't do it OP! The only time I'd ever consider going to Detroit is for the Detroit Grand Prix and the Woodward Dream Cruise
PS Skibum, there will be a lot of hours driving, but there are a few places to stop at along the way. Hell, Toronto is just about an hour from Detroit. But yes... PA is mostly a forest or farms. That’s what audiobooks are for.
No, you're thinking of Cleveland.
Here's a scenic tour of Detroit:

I don’t even go back to Cleveland for fun.
I would rather stay at The Henry go to one of many nice restaurants Andiamo Cantaro Market Buddy’s Auburn Cafe or Millers Bar. Also Detroit has multiple 24/7 Cony Islands. Also had the best sushi roll of my life at Crave before it closed and I used to stay in Baltimore for work so I know good seafood.
It’s a down to earth city without a superiority complex like Pittsburgh where I am at now.
Can it be rough? sure... I also like it because it’s a city not a resort community.
