On vacation and meeting a dancer who used to dance in a our city

I spent all of last week on vacation in Tampa and I did find time to check out a few clubs. At one of the clubs, I was talking to a dancer and she asked me where I was from. I told her I was from Detroit. She told me she has family in the Detroit area, and that she used to dance at a few clubs there. She told me which Detroit area clubs she has danced at. Then she asked me which club was my favorite, and started randomly naming off clubs. It only took her a couple of guesses to name what is my (current) favorite club.

Has anyone else gone to a club while on vacation in another city, and happen to meet a dancer who used to dance at one of your local clubs?

People go to Tampa for vacation? Lol - kidding!!!

At 3 random clubs on the east coast, Ive met 3 different dancers who claimed to have worked in Vegas, although I think 2 of them tried the idea of “flying out there for a weekend” and it didn’t pan out after a few attempts.

yes. Coincidentally, in Tampa as well as in Baltimore and San Fran. Until a few years ago, women traveled from as far as SF to dance at my favorite club. The money was that good. They came in for a few days once a month.

For me, it was the opposite. I was in my current town and a dancer was telling me about how she had danced at the Pink Pony in Tampa.

Yea me too. I met a girl here recently that danced the thee doll house in Tampa, which I've been to.

I’ve not yet met dancers vacationing at other clubs. But that is because I don’t club much in vacation spots.

Paterson and Irvington aren’t considered destination resort areas! Lol!

Much of the economy in the Tampa area is tied to tourism and that is very seasonal. In the spring, the clubs are very busy but in the Fall, they are almost empty. So there are a lot of girls that will come to the area during the busy season, then go back home when it slows down.

Saw a dancer who called herself Trouble at the Sundowner (Niagara Falls) in January, Masters (Myrtle Beach) in March and again at the Red Garter (Key West) in late April all in the same four month time period. I guess she was traveling and so was I.

Tampa has traditionally had a rep as a strip club mecca, so conceivable many strippers have traveled thru there (and it being a warm spot is probably also an added attraction to get away from the cold up north)

I drive 3-hours from Miami to Cocoa Beach every couple of months and hit the clubs in the area - about a yesr ago was at a Cocoa Beach area club and an AA dancer recognized me from one of the AA clubs I hit in Miami.

At an AA club in Miami, a dancer I knew from an AA club in Dallas when I lived there also recognized me.
