I will be on vacation in Tampa from April 14-21. I'm actually going to be staying in St. Petersburg, close to the bridge to cross over into Tampa. This will put me right in the center of everything I have planned for the week so far. I am for sure going to pay a visit to Mons Venus. I will probably also make a stop at 2001 Odyssey since I have watched a little bit of their live webcam and saw a few girls that I would actually like to see in person. Right now, my plan is to go to these clubs towards the end of my visit, going to one club on Thursday night and the other club on Friday night. Right now I am thinking Mons on Thursday and Odyssey on Friday, but I can do the flip flop if anyone strongly suggests I do so. I am also aware that during the week there will be hockey fans visiting Tampa as the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs will be taking place. We do have to wait for the NHL regular season to end before we will actually know what days the Lightining will have their home playoff games. However, this will still very likely drive a lot of customers to these clubs. If I plan on arriving at one of these clubs between 9-10pm, would it be an issue trying to find an open seat along the stage?
Other things I have planned involve going to a Tampa Bay Rays game. It is on my bucket list to visit every MLB ballpark, and so far I have only visited two. I will, of course spend a lot of time relaxing at St. Pete Beach. Now, for what I have yet to figure out. What are some good resturaunts? I heard that Berns is a good place to eat, but looking over their menu, I prefer not to spend that much on one meal. What would be some good options for dining that are more casual? Besides the beach, a ball game and strip clubs, what are some other recommended activities to fill my time?
If you decide to try some of the clubs up Rt 19 in Pasco County, which I strongly recommend, then you could try dinner at Harold Seltzer's Steakhouse. The food is rather good there and it won't break the bank. I really enjoy hitting that place for a prime rib dinner and a couple of cocktails before making my way into those very accommodating clubs.
Oh, and Mons and 2001 are both tourist traps. They are also right across the street from each other, so you don't have to burn two whole nights just to see them both. I suggest spending one night at the tourist traps and the other enjoying much more fun places like the Brass Flamingo and Bare Assets in the Holiday area.
Rickdugan hits the nail on the head. Both mons and 2001 on the same night is easy. Both give hand stamps or wristbands so you can easily pop back and forth between the 2. Should have zero trouble getting stageside at either club at nearly anytime.
I also second the Del Friscos recommendation. Berns is as expensive as it gets in Tampa. Plenty of food options all over the areas. By the sounds of where you are staying you should checkout Diamond Dolls in Clearwater as well.
Scarletts in Ybor Strip is often worth a visit. Just be careful to negotiate costs and expectations if you do a private dance, especially with some of the Cuban dancers (e.g., Bianca) who have been reported for bait and switch tactics.
I concur with most all that has been said: Bare Assets / Scarlett's / One night (if that) for Mons & 2001 / Berns if want to spend some $$ / Whiskey Joe's on a sunny afternoon / If your near the Rt. 60 bridge maybe the original Hooters to say you've been there / If you want a great sunset either Palm Pavilion or Shephards @ Clearwater Beach / any of the Frenchy's for good seafood / if you are actually hanging at St. Pete Beach proper check out the Don CeSar hotel and it's history / the Hurricane is good at Pass-a-Grille....... also neat to check out Fort DeSoto down past Tierra Verde.
