SJG, it's perfectly legal, and common, for 18-year-olds to work in the no-extras alcohol clubs in SF, in fact I'd imagine that's usually their starting point, since the nude clubs are seedier in general and almost all feature extras ... in fact, I ran into an 18-year-old last week at an alcohol club. Hell, she looked like it was only a few days past her 18th birthday! At that same club, about a year and a half ago, I ran into an 18-year-old as well. As a general rule, these girls aren't worth the time for me, being understandably more old-guy averse and often super low-touch, at least at first.

I don't think dancers starting while still in H.S. is too uncommon – I've def heard plenty of stories over the years especially pre 9/11 when it was much easier to acquire fake IDs.

I can see why the supply of strippers may be hard to run-out – a good looking 18 y/o with just a H.S. education and not much work experience can pull down a couple of hundred in one night in a decent club vs having to work a week or two to make the equivalent of a good night in a good club.

She was likely out of high school. A lot of guys seem to think that very petite dancers with very little curves and tiny A cup breasts are high school age. Maybe you are talking about places which serve food and are licensed as restaurants and so they have beer and wine, but no hard liquor. For that I think a waitress need only be 18, as it is not a bar. Are the places like Hungry I and Gold Club this way?

SJG, you know wrong :) The alcohol clubs are full of 18-20 year old strippers ... they're just not allowed to drink. It may be that Gold Club, Hustlers, Penthouse are technically restaurants, they all serve food. If food is served, you can be under 21 and still work there, and even serve alcohol, you just can't be a bartender or drink the alcohol.

This is the only way I know that they could do it, by having a restaurant license; but this does prohibit hard liquor.

Other states may be different.

I will give an example here, the Sunnyvale Spoons. This was advertised as a family restaurant, not a breastaurant. But in fact it always was stocked with young beauties.

So one half was the bar, and the other half was the restaurant. So to work on the bar side they had to be 21yo. And you could eat your food on the bar side. But for the restaurant side, beer and wine only, they could be just 18yo. This was the most common.

The hostess though could be only 17yo, as she usually was. If she was good, she got promoted to waitress when she turned 18yo.

All in all a very cool set up. The manager had a good eye for the girls too.

Now if they did not have been and wine, then maybe waitresses could have been under age. But because of it, they had to be 18yo.

Now as far as nudity or "adult entertainment", the rule is 18yo. That is basically a First Amendment right of the entertainer.

D95 - the lack of parental oversight is rampant in many high schools. Teachers I know complain about kids who don't care because their parents couldn't give a rip what they do or who they do it with. SJG, nope, Hustler and Gold Club, for example, all serve hard liquor. California most certainly allows strippers who are under 21, to work in clubs that serve alcohol including hard liquor. Pretty sure the bartender has to be 21.

I try to imagine myself as a PL (lol), and I prefer women of at least that age also. I might think differently if I just liked getting a lap dance and moving on, or quick extra and move on. But I like to sit with a stripper for hours, talking shit and flirting and laughing, and most teenager conversation makes me want to stick a sharp stick in my eye... Give me someone closer to her mid-20s or older any day. Not to mention that if a girl can't/won't drink with me, I dismiss her from my table immediately. I've also known dancers who were under 21 in the Twin Cities at clubs that served alcohol. The only employees allowed to even bring the drinks to customers had to be 21 or older. It's the same thing here in North Dakota, too.

Here in MI you have to be 21 to pour alcohol and 18 to serve it... Most Detroit clubs let the underage girls drink though. I was a waitress at sports bars at 18... Started dancing at 19. But I graduated high school and started college at 17 so by 19 I had a sense of maturity. Although I was always more mature than my high school counterparts, I couldn't stand most of them.

I understand grown men wanting a younger girl, but targeting high schoolers is a little odd to me. Idk if I'd go to say it's gross because I don't know every situation. Okay, so then what it probably is, is that Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties have their own tougher ordinances which prohibit the not yet 21yo strippers from places with alcohol. These are not penal code enhancements, they are to the alcohol licensing regs.

Santa Clara County prohibits topless in alcohol places.

San Jose prohibits night clubs with alcohol licenses from EVER having those under 21 in the building. So they can't have 18yo nights just by locking up the alcohol. In Sunnyvale this is not an issue.
