Some of you may remember me recently mentioning Kendra Wilkinson being on a reality TV programme over here. As a reminder she is stuck in a jungle in Australia and has to go through various trials etc. on a daily basis. On last nights episode she was discussing her 'career' as a stripper. She told all her other camp mates that in six months she earned $500,000 as a stripper. No doubt strippers can earn good money but this seems a bit far fetched. She's have to earn almost $2,809 per night every night to get to that figure without an breaks.
Don't know about you guys but I think she was bullshitting?
She also claimed to earn $4,000 one night just sitting talking to a guy, that's a little bit more believable.
By the way she is freaking out at nearly every challenge is being a complete wimp!
Clearly bullshit absent some really extraordinary or unusual circumstances. I posted an analysis of my ATF's earnings a while back. I don't remember the number is exactly, but I think I calculated that she made a little bit north of $100,000 per year working around three nights per week on average. But she was clearly above average but in terms of looks and in terms of working at a high-end club where she would like more than most.
Girls that make a half mil in 6 months aren't pulling in $2.8k a night. They get huge chunks of cash from a few guys every so often. I know a dancer or two that have "arrangements"; they still dance nightly to stay in circulation but they are the lazy ones in the corner drinking with other dancers more often than not.
i would say these days, average girls at an average club, are now lucky to make $350/night only during the week and maybe $500+ at the weekends, with a few of the better girls meanwhile sometimes making $1000 on a friday/saturday night only.
this is based on several conversations i have had, at what i would say is a much busier than average club.
depending on how much they work, a dayshifter might be on only as little as $35,000-$45,000/year **, while a top girl working weekend nights at an average club say four nights a week, should still easily be on $100,000+ but i would say those making even a quarter what kendra claims would be rare.
(** extras would naturally push this figure up)
in kendra's case she may be charging much more for her supposed superstar status and i would therefore her claims are possible ?
i bet she is reckoning on making at least a million out of being in the jungle show also ?
Just for a side note Londonguy Kendra Wilkinson is crazy, so I'm not sure I would believe anything she said.
Once she became a d-list "celebrity" she may have been able to make close to that buy traveling around the country as a headliner at various strip clubs, but still unlikely. I think the most I had ever heard a stripper making in one weekend was $7,000 working on a Friday and Saturday night in Vegas. This was strictly lapdances and VIP sessions, this girl worked at a no-extras club.
Johnsmith is correct, it's not uncommon for some higher tier girls to make over $100,000 a year. It's quite hilarious though, I would see these girls roll into the clubs in Toronto driving expensive cars, carrying designer purses, shoes, etc... I wanted to remind them, "hey I can do my job for 30 years and make that type of money where your window of opportunity is 5-10 years max, you may wanna save some of your money."
In the United States, strippers I got to know personally that were the better looking girls at their clubs, working in large cities (Dallas, Vegas, Phoenix, Atlanta, etc.) usually were making $50K-70K working 3-4 nights a week, working about 48-50 weeks a year. Some of them had day jobs, some did not The majority of them appeared to manage their money horribly and always seemed broke.
For the kind of high mileage house dancer who is a point of reference for everyone here, it would be total BS. That's a fuck lot of lap dances and VIPs.
For a skilled gold digger working in a low mileage/high roller club with the kind of instincts that could land her a Hugh Hefner class boyfriend, hell, $500k is barely the cash equivalent of 2 or 3 luxury car gifts. Which is not to necessarily say that this particular chick isn't bullshitting.
I don't think it is "stripper shit". The only reason why I say that is because she was a playboy bunny. So sometime they charge up to $2500-$5000 to even show up to strip. This is either at a club or at a private party. Plus who knows if she was doing "extra's". because there are a lot of playboy bunnies that were escorts. Or "strippers/models". We still don't know all the ones that Tiger Woods saw or many other people. But I know pornstars will do prvt parties (non extra's) and it costs $2000 for them to just showing up. Then if tips are not flowing they will leave or charge another $1000 per hour. So money can rack up in a hurry.
But like others have stated typical strippers will make $50,000-$100,000. Some make more and many make less.
I heard of a stripper that made $26,000 during the NBA all star weekend when it was in Houston, a lot of that was rappers, entertainers and athletes tipping her. A stripper I knew said the most she made in one night was $10,000. Another stripper I knew said the most she made in one night was $8,000. These three strippers are in the 9 to 10 range as far as looks.
A dancer I knew back in the '90s once told me she had declared about $140k on her taxes, and I saw her at the club only maybe six or seven months that year.
$500K in 6 months? No way a stripper can make that much. Kendra isn't even that hot. A kept woman might get that from a rich sugar daddy, but Kendra's saying she made it as a stripper.
The strippers I know in the Detroit area can make $50K to $100K a year after taxes (which is the same as before taxes for strippers.)
I think strippers were making shitloads of money at the height of the internet bubble. Like $200k a year was not hard for even 6s and 5s to make. After that it got they made substantially less. The bottom in their earnings is undoubtedly in now though (stevie-girl and The Economists cries of DOOM! notwithstanding).
As they make and more money now I expect fewer and fewer of them (especially the new ones) to offer extras.
They'll probably get back to the point where they can make $75k/y-125k/y if they do it full time and are attractive soon even w/o extras.
In my neck of the woods, Philly, South Jersey, a stripper is lucky if she makes $550 a night. Most make $150-200/night without extras. With extras, they may make $500+ a night. The housefees and tip outs take out a good portion of their income. Many stripper have complained to me that they are left with $50 - $200/night after all of the fees. The glory days of the 90s are long gone. I think that the top tier strippers will still earn $100K with extras. The middle tier will earn around $40K per annum, and the bottom tier around $20K per annum.

In some places it's already happened and more.
