Drinking and clubbing

I have a few beers, and if lucky, not enough to "discover" the curse of strip clubs, the ATM!

I stopped drinking at SC's the night my friends had to drop me off at my house in a shopping cart with a note pinned on me. My SO was not amused. I swore "never again".

My limit is 2 Yuenglings although I often just drink bottled water. Any more than 2 gets dangerous on at least 3 accounts: I'm more likely to behave badly, I'm more likely to spend too much, and I'm more likely to have a problem driving afterwards. If drinking is my objective I don't go to a strip club. I've learned the hard way that the 2 don't mix well.

I always have a few if I can, unless the club is dry with no byob. Not going to clubs that often I still get the adreniline flowing in anticipation and a little buzz helps to mute that. Of course drinking too much is not a good idea in any evironment and that's magnified in an SC so I try to get just the right balance and then taper off before leaving (sometimes more successfully than others). While travelling at least its an option to call a cab and leave the rental car until the next day.

I rarely drink at a SC or GC, because I don't want to spend more $$ than I need to (or get dances from an ugly looking dancer.) If I do drink, it's a wine cooler or pina colada with rum.

I drink my cocktail of choice throughout the evening at the same pace I would anywhere else, but switch to diet Coke a couple of hours before leaving. The local gendarmes have been known to camp outside the club around closing time, to catch the tipsy driver, and I certainly want to make sure I can pass the Breathalyzer, if that becomes an issue.

I always get something, unless it's a BYOB club, in which case, I bring some along. Where they serve alcohol, I usually get 2 or 3 Budweisers. On the other hand, I do tend to get carried away at the BYOB places, because I usually bring a sixpack and drink it all. Any more, as I have learned and that can be dangerous.

The clubs I usually frequent don't serve alcohol so I will get a bottled water. If the club I'm at is serving, I'll get a beer or two.

I do drink when going to strip clubs but try to go slow because obviously the drink costs are considerable and can be spent on better things in these places. Generally going to the strip club for us follows going to a bar to drink before hand, so I tend to have a decent buzz going when I step in the door. Would much rather hang out for a few hours and get going off a six pack then trying to get the same thing at $6.25 a bottle strip club prices.
