"You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar". Agree or disagree?

One of my favorite dancers is 24. Her mother has legal custody of her 5 yo daughter because she got busted for coke. She recently had an abortion. She claims that she is no longer doing coke but freely admits to smoking a lot of pot. She has a lot of regulars because she is very friendly and some because she delivers in VIP.

She kind of took me by surprise last week when she told me that she likes me because I don't judge her. I said "Well hey. you don't judge me either".

Just food for thought.

That's such a typical dancer line. Aren't you immune by now?

She likes you because you pay her. Stop paying her and see how popular you end up being.

Agree. Never hurts to be nice to these girls that have made some bad choices. I suspect many have had no father figure in their life also, so being non-judgmental is genuinely appreciated.

Her job is degrading enough. Anything that you do that makes it seem a little less degrading of course works.

My ATF and I have had this conversation a 100 times. She is a very pretty, uneducated, heroin addict who has a heart of gold but will suck your dick and spread her legs if the price is right. I recently spoke of a movie where all strippers are portrayed as drug addicted whores. She said,"I'm not a whore am I?" I said, "well, do you take money for sex?" She got quite pensive and said,"I prefer to think of myself as a call-girl." I said,"that's right honey, you're no whore."

I think everyone, no matter their position in life, wants to be respected as a human being.

Gawker, I've heard the same kind of thing. My ex-ATF became indignant when some other dancer accused her of "escorting." At this time my ATF was fucking me for money once or twice a week.

I tend to treat everyone, including strippers, as a human being until they demonstrate that they don't deserve it. I have no complaints about the efficacy of that approach so far.

I'm with GMD on this. Everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt and a certain level of respect just for resembling a human. Some people demonstrate later that they are just impersonating a human but are actually evil little shits. I dot actively disrespect these people but I don't spend time or energy on them either. They move into the indifferent zone.

    sc,

I met at least 3 of your faves at Follies, but can't even remember the name of the one that danced for me. She was, I'm sure, older than 24.

GMD and GSB are on the money. I still catch my flies with chopsticks although I threw a fried tortilla at a fly and sliced it in half.

I was "friends" with a stripper several years ago. (that is, I paid her for dances, listened to her SS in the club and occasionally bought her a meal outside the club.) She suddenly decided one day that by, "NOT judging me, you are judging me to be too lost to even help."

    Sometimes you just can't win.

@Lone_Wolf: "but she kind of has a point there."

How do you figure? Sure, it *could* mean that, but it doesn't have to; there are lots of other explanations.

There are two kinds of people: those who deserve to be treated with politeness, and those to be avoided as much as possible.

I try to avoid judging anyone dancing for money. However if she is rude to me I figure she might be rude to everyone or might be just having one of those days. I try to avoid interacting with rude people. For some, rude seems to be normal.
Judging people you know nothing about except they dance for money is rude IMO.
